Packers repeat their dominance from last year's regular season, but the defense is better than the 2010 team as sacks come fast & furious from Matthews who is healthy again, and from the new guys Nick Perry, Jarel Worthy, Mike Daniels, Anthony Hargrove, Philip Merling, and even Mike Neal once he finally gets healthy..... ok, scratch Neal off that dream..... but they don't stumble in week 15 like last year, and the Packers this time go from 14-0 to 15-0 to 16-0.
The Packers, as in 2010, dominate. In 2010, we never trailed by more than 7. This season, our biggest deficits were 3-0 to both Houston, and at Seattle.
The only games that we win by less than 8 points are the 31-24 win at Houston, and the 23-20 overtime win in Chicago in week 15 that got the Packers to 14-0.
Packer defense is ranked #1 in sacks, #7 in yards allowed (because teams were behind so much they had to pass a lot and racked up plenty of garbage yardage), and #3 in points allowed. Also, back to #1 in interceptions forced.
In the playoffs, the Packers welcome, again, the Giants in round 2 after the Giants knocked off the Bears.
This time the Packers don't have a drunk, drugged out kid go missing, drown, and then have a funeral the day before the game.
This time the Packers don't have 3 rare fumbles, and they don't drop passes like wet soap in the shower.
This time the Packers come out prepared, focused, and pissed off and they anhialate the Giants like they did in week 16 of the 2010 season. Again, the Packers defense is great.
Packers sack Eli 7 times in 3 quarters, with the last one breaking his face and knocking him out of the game.
Final score is Packers 41, Giants 0.
NFC Title game is next, and it's a visit to the Tundra from Philadelphia, who comes in with a 14-3 record and the NFC #2 seed. The battered the Saints 30-14 in the NFC divisional game.
This game is similar to the Giants game, but because of the colder weather, the Packers offense is more conservative, while the defense is dominant again, knocking Mike Vick out of the game in the 2nd quarter with a broken head.
Packers win 34-7. Eagles lone score comes on one of 4 kickoff returns they have. Defense is still unscored on.
Finally the Super Bowl everyone's been looking for for about a decade: Packers vs Patriots. #12 vs #12, Rodgers vs Brady.
Packers steamroll again, although the defense does allow a touchdown (two of them). Packers win the Lombardi Trophy with a 38-17 ***-whooping behind 4 TD passes from Super Bowl MVP Aaron Rodgers -and a passer rating of 142.7. The Packers knock Tom Brady out of the game midway thru the 4th quarter on a blindside sack by Nick Perry. Brady breaks his throwing pinky.
Afterwards, Mrs Brady, Giselle Bundchen, is caught on camera -aired on TMZ- *****ing that her husband "can't throw the ball on offense and rush Rodgers and cover all the Packer receivers".
She also adds that owner "Robert Kraft should clone 21 other Tom's".
The Packers cumulative playoff playoff score composite is 113-24, the most dominant in NFL Super Bowl era playoff history.
Talks & debate continues all season long about this possibly being the best team ever, and by the end after crushing the Patriots, everyone except Skip Bayless says they are clearly, after becoming the first team to go 19-0, as well as in dominant fashion.
Bayless still is unimpressed as he claims Rodgers didn't lead any dramatic playoff comebacks like Elway, Montana, and Brady have.
On air the Monday after the Super Bowl when Bayless says this, Stephen A Smith jumps across the table and punches Skip in the nose & chokes him.
