My bleacher seat analysis is he has not yet fully recovered. I think a bit of mobility and a lot of strength has not returned yet.

It would be asking a lot of him to play at his best this quickly. I'm in agreement with you on his recovery.

Well, Bakhtiari needs to play better as well and the inside linebacker position is a work in progress once Matthews moves outside. Other than that the Packers are extremely talented.

Palmer and now Thomas playing the dime have made ILB solid when Clay moves outside.

The best medicine for an aggressive blitz is a quick release throw, at one time FAvre to Driver for 5-7 yard slants were nearly unstoppable.. Using TE sets in combination with one TE and a FB as bookends in motion allows the line to condense and eliminates interior gaps and unabated runs at the QB off the edge for an overactive blitzing style D. Once the Rams D get burned with 3-4+ consecutive 1st downs on quick release short yardage throws and screens and working the flats, they will be forced to re-assume the traditional rushing 4, at which time we will give them a heavy dose of Mr. Lacy

"People do what works" (thank you Dr Phil) human nature is to continue doing what has been successful in similar situations. We have had good success last year using our TE and RB in short yardage passing situations during an overactive aggressive D. Lacy spend last year preseason and camp developing his strength which is catching short yardage throws and running over would be tacklers with his spin moves for an extra 4-5 yards. We also have Starks who is above average in short passing situations.. IMO this will be key to wearing down an overactive Rams blitz

Palmer and Thomas have been an upgrade over last season for sure but I wouldn´t mind an upgrade during next offseason though.

Unfortunately the Packers have only two tight ends on the roster with Backman currently not being up to the task.

Yeah that's a problem now. Seems Bulaga is making great progress so fingers crossed.

What happened to Tretter? He was scheduled to be the staring C last year until Linsley came along. I would think he'd have enough talent to provide adequate depth. I know it's a different position. Has Tretter's stock fallen?

Tretter lost the starting job at center to Linsley because he was injured in camp last season and put on IR boomerang. He played sporadically at tackle last season but was a liability at the position. As of right now he´s the backup center.

Rams bring pressure with their front four. Only blitz to change things up. Time for the ripper to earn his paycheck on offense, not just ST.
