Regarding the article.

To me it's simple. Coulda shoulda woulda.

If they traded spots, Aaron probably wouldn't be as good as he is now, and Alex probably would be better than he is.

But talent is talent. There's no way in hell that Alex Smith would be as good as Aaron Rodgers is now if the scenarios were traded, and there's no way that Rodgers would be as bad as Alex Smith.

Smith has been in the same system for 3 offseasons now. He should have the grasp of the offense, but he simply doesn't have the arm strenght and the improvisational ability that Rodgers have to perform in the same level.
I would like to add that the confidence factor would play a part. I'm not talking about me, I always think I'm the best in the universe, but you have to give a few cents of the exchange to that scenario. Rogers never had a reason to doubt, he had some success once stepping on the field.
But it's simple to me, he has far more as a QB in all areas, a little smarter, a lot stronger throw, way better accuracy so I agree, he was destined to be the better quarterback.
I thought I read somewhere that San Fran didn't pick Rodgers because they thought he was "cocky" lol
Good for us no question.

If I were being a hall monitor or a snitch, I would have just PMed a mod and said what's up. Instead I gave you an opportunity to either a) provide a link to the source of the story, which is the responsible thing to do anyway, or b) remove a post that's from a subscription based service, which is the legal thing to do.

Imagine you're the author of that piece who put in a lot of hours researching, writing, editing and re-writing that piece, and someone else simply copies it and pastes it without giving you credit for your original work. You probably wouldn't be too thrilled. Or imagine you charge for content and you find someone else gave your content away for free. You also wouldn't be happy.

I think you're a good guy, Ivo, but stop making me out to be the bad guy when I was looking out for the forum's interests. I've been on places that have been shut down due to copyright infringement. Lawsuits have been filed against owners and moderators because of it. I'd hate to see that happen here.

With that, I'm done with the topic. Call me names if you want, think what you want to, but in the end, I did the right thing. I think any of the members here who write articles for a living would agree with me.

But next time you decide to cry about something just send me a PM, ok?

I really don't see what you guys are arguing about. It's about the WAY each one approached, not the content right?

Because, as LTF said, Ivo was right in trying to provide content to us, AND RIGHT IN NOT PROVIDING THE LINK.

As well as Chris was right in trying to protect the forum.

Guys, take a moment to wear the other's shoes, and you'll see that it's really no big deal.

Yes, it's actually more our fault. We should be paying more attention to this, so that forum members aren't bothered by it. But IVO is right, as there wasn't the link, I thought that it wasn't needed. But, like the forum policy states, the entire article simply can't be posted...

I'd rather people aren't calling each other out. Approach the mods to do so next time guys, please.

Not really on the topic of this, or trying to shift it away but alot of people have been guilty of post entire article(while providing the link). Im sure I could find mods that have done it. I think its just something not many users were really aware of. Not that ignorance is an excuse, just now is something we are aware of.

I confess to being guilty of posting the entire article. I used the quote tabs and posted the link to the source too, but I wasn't clear on posting the entire article. I did so for anybody who didn't want to click the link, some people are funny about that. I assume full responsibility for that and I apologize. If anything good has come from this, it has made us all a little more aware of not only the forum's rules regarding posting articles but copy write infringement too. Maybe the best way to look at all this is that it was a blessing in disguise.

I have also done that numerous times, and ignorance in this case is the reason, not the excuse...

So... My bad.
