Ya just never know what's gonna happen on here LL! This has been an egoless thread, with people more interested in asking and answering good questions than picking apart a reply.

It's nice to see.
Here comes...get buggybill back in here.

While I also believe that "on any given Sunday"....any team can win. That said, the Bengals were at home last night, as were the Packers last Sunday. I think most fan mentality is that a good team wins home games, especially against a 2-3 team, playing a backup QB.

I am not debating any of your points, since they are valid. That said, nothing wrong with fans discussing ways that the Packers can improve, which often can come off as "b*itching". ;)

All that said, I sometimes wonder how the current Packer team would be with a Joe Flacco at QB. I do like Jordan Love, but he definitely needs to become a better game manager.
Good point about Flacco and Love - interesting "what if" scenario. I agree that Love needs to get better at managing the game on the field. It doesn't look like he audibles much. I'm not sure. Maybe he's not cut from the same cloth as a guy like Jacobs - who strikes me as the leader of at least the offense. Love is a low-key guy, and appears unwilling to take over the team the way Favre and Rodgers did.

All that said, he has a great arm, his decision-making has improved, and I'm glad he's our team's QB. Hopefully time and success will lead to him taking a more visible role on the field in managing the offense. But time isn't on his or the team's side. So let's go and have a statement game in there desert.

The Bengals may wonder why they are paying Burrows so much.

We see this almost every season. A high paid star QB goes down and then an old Vet steps in and plays pretty darn good. Makes me wonder if maybe there is something to not paying a QB $70M/year and just go with a $10M/year proven vet, or in the case of the Bengals and Flacco, $1.3M.
I didn't really notice Flacco in the Packers' loss to Cleveland - probably because neither team did much scoring.

He certainly played well against the Packers the second time around. His arm is still strong, as is his accuracy. He proved it again, getting the bets of Rodgers and the Steelers Thursday night.

And to your point, well sort of, why does any team pay so much for a QB? I know, it's what "the market will bear" and it's not gonna change. But when guys like Purdy come along, and a 40-year-old Flacco plays so well, it does raise the question of the best way to find a great QB. Like a lot of things in life, it boils down to a lot of skill (in scouting and player eval) and a bit of luck.

I hope anyone who continues to downplay winning in the NFL continue to observe the entire league….folks pretending like we should have destroyed the Bengals like they were an area high school team and pissed about our game with them…..you watch last night?

Fact is it is FREAKING HARD to win games in the NFL. We are mere two blocked kicks from being undefeated but that is dismissed by many….yet then I hear those same people moan about how good Arizona is as they’ve barely lost and could easily be undefeated….

Ignorance illustrated.

There is a reason why with Burrow the Bengals are one of the better teams….and if Flacco plays like that they’ll claw back into the division easily.

Fact is this is gonna be a TOUGH year and I still think the #1 seed on each side is likely to have four or more losses.
Yup. This is a funny season so far. There doesn't seem to be any one dominate team. Every team has warts. The team playing the best right now is Tampa because Baker is playing out of his mind. Philly, KC, Detroit and Buffalo all look vulnerable at times this year.

That's irritating. I liked Baker when he was in Cleveland. I don't like the idea of him suddenly becoming an obstacle, especially with Tampa. I remember when they were Central Division rivals, and of course the Tom Brady version knocked us out of a Super Bowl spot (even though Brady threw three INTs).

I made my post after the game when I was tired. Thought about it the next day and kicked myself for not mentioning Brinson who got my notice in a couple of plays. Then Brinson had the highest PFF grades and didn't realize just how well he played. Anyway, I was thinking of how our DL would do against AZ and wanted to see what everyone thought of Brinson. I was surprised, nobody mentioned him. So, in case he or his mom read here and think we are a bunch of ignorant buttheads:

STUD: Warren Brinson

He is in line to get a bunch more snaps.

I'm still thinking in the West it's detroit and eagles when it comes down to it. For me, it's tougher to pick the East.

It's early Sunday morning, and I'm old, but I need help with this. What do Detroit and Eagles have to do with the West? And, what teams are involved in picking the East?

That is kinda puzzling HE. Detroit - North, Eagles - East. Not West. And "tougher to pick the East"? Not sure what gopkrs is trying to say. As you said, it's early Sunday morning.

It doesn't even have to be that it's early... or Sunday... or being old... I might have to add some whiskey to this first cup of coffee. :coffee: The only thing that makes sense is @gopkrs meant NFC, and not sure about the AFC favorite.

I'm just thinking very old school. Or maybe NFC West vs. NFC East. But are you serious? You really couldn't figure that out from the previous discussions? One side has to play the other in the superbowl. And the only thing that matters at that point is the best in the West and the best in the East. Not the best two or four overall.

This was not a good week for WI sports. It’s time the Packers flip the script and give us something to be proud of. Give us a 2+ score win.
Amen OS. They need a win where O, D, and maybe even STs delivers. It will also keep them on top in the North. Start fast, get a two score lead, and roll on.
