I too was at the game and was impressed repeatedly by the Saints fans I met. Good folks one and all of them. I was more than a little unimpressed by the Saints fan forums, but, I guess you get the same s--t talk from Packers' fans on most of the other 'national' forums. I find it completely unacceptable to be wishing injury on a competitor just to get the "W".
To "TruerJulie" ... no need to be embarrassed by this kid...I was embarrassed by the boo'ing that the Saints received as they came out of the tunnel. I'm an old school fan who has kind of lost his taste for the stadium experience over the last 15 years due to the emergence of what I call "the ESPN generation of fans". It's not Lambeau in particular, it seems to permeate the entire spectrum of professional sports. In places like Philly and Oakland, it's expected that the stadium will be occupied by an inordinate number of loud-mouth louts ... but not in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Being a former 'competitor', I just do not find it acceptable behavior here, there or anywhere. Now I'll hop off my soapbox long enough to wish the Saints continued success. I've read in the Times Pic that the loud-mouth louts there are jamming pretty ******* the Saints' defense ... I think that Green Bay's offense can make anyone's defense look bad -- but I have to admit that the Saints made the Pack's defense look pretty pedestrian as well. If the scores were reversed (and they could have easily been so) those very same Saints' fans would be saying what I just said. I for one am extremely pleased that the Pack were able to escape with a "W" here.
