Packers minicamp: Rodgers gets a trim (but doesn't get married), Woodson is among the missing, and other tidbits

GREEN BAY -- The Green Bay Packers kicked off their three-day mandatory minicamp Tuesday morning with a 90-minute practice inside the Don Hutson Center, and here's a few of the highlights before we start transcribing interviews and head back down to the 3 o'clock workout:
> QB Aaron Rodgers finally cut his hair. Long-haired linebacker A.J. Hawk joked that Rodgers looked like he was about 13 years old.
> LT Chad Clifton continues to sit out, with Orrin Thompson (and Tony Moll) working with the No. 1 offense in his place. Daryn Colledge worked with the first unit at left guard. Also sitting out: DLs Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila (knee), Johnny Jolly (shoulder), Justin Harrell (back) and Colin Cole (forearm); OLs Cameron Stephenson (calf) and Junius Coston (lower back); and CBs Will Blackmon (foot) and Kyle Ward (ankle).
> RB Ryan Grant continues to watch practice while unsigned. The exclusive rights free agent managed to get hurt at practice anyway, though, when he was hit in the face with a medicine ball. We talked with Grant after practice -- with ice on his lip -- and will have more later.
> CB Charles Woodson was not at the morning practice, and coach Mike McCarthy said it was due to a personal issue. He's expected at the afternoon session. With him out, Tramon Williams worked alongside Al Harris with the 1s.
> The starting defensive consisted of Aaron Kampman, Ryan Pickett, Cullen Jenkins and Michael Montgomery/Jason Hunter sharing time.
> McCarthy said middle linebackers and safeties are using the new defensive helmet radio system and the process has been "smooth" so far. Nick Collins and Nick Barnett are the primary users of the headset, which will only be allowed in one player's helmet at a time on the field.
> The local Fox TV affiliate, WLUK, erroneously reported that Rodgers got married on Saturday. He did not. He was simply attending a wedding of a family friend back home in California. He laughed it off and joked about Fox's "Fair and Balanced" coverage not being so balanced in this instance.
> Returning to action after missing parts or all of OTAs: FB John Kuhn (groin), OL Tony Moll (knee) and TE Jermichael Finley (knee).
More to come.
