"It was the Packers, Baltimore as well, Cleveland, the Chiefs and the Jets also," said Revis during an appearance on SNY's Loud Mouths. "And then also the Pats, so it was a number of teams."

So people, stop thinking Ted isnt calling anyone...Remember this next year ( although many will forget)

We all heard of the Browns and the Jets rumors..Might have had some rumors of the Packers

But just because you dont truly hear something, doesnt mean Ted isnt doing it

But if TT offered 7 m per is that a real offer? You gotta know what we offered to know if we were truly in it.

People want to say Ted doesnt call fa---then when shown he calls fa---we get what did he offer--then its well he didnt offer enough.

People just have to realize he will call up free agents (even tho it is never reported) he will have a # attached to them and wont go to much higher.

Just accept he will never do what some of the posters want him to do

Well, maybe not about signing free agents, but he finally listened to us about Jones and Hawk. :)

Revis would have been a great addition, but not at the asking price. Let's just be thankful that we have a GM with the restraint to NOT shell out 5yr $70 million contract to an aging CB with a reconstructed knee.

Free agents need to bring value to the team. Value is measured both in positive and negative terms. Hopefully the talent brought is the positive but the accompanying contract is the negative. We often lose sight on keeping the value in favor of the Packers. Emotional decisions typically lead to bad outcomes. We were able to re-sign Rodgers, Matthews, Jordy, and most recently Cobb & Bulaga because Thompson measures value. HRE posted the 2016 free agents in another thread. There is still need to look for value (Peppers) but have restraint with the future in mind.

Posters have contended that TT "sits on his thumbs"; "Doesn't utilize all the tools at his disposal"; and "doesn't know much about free agency". Clearly he pursues many more FAs than he signs, but he is smart about it. There is a real good chance that of the 31 other GMs out there, one will not be as prudent and drive the market for a particular player.

I don't think Revis, on the downside of his career was worth that. Not by a long shot. An owner in NYC can sign a big name to help sell tickets - not to win football games. That doesn't make sense in Green Bay WI.

Of course the Packers contact more free agents than we know about and I’m sure Thompson has been a “finalist” in bidding for free agents that we haven’t heard about. But IMO it’s pretty clear Thompson sets a price for players and is disciplined enough not to deviate from it so the Packers are probably quickly out of the bidding on quite a few UFAs. The Packers have also been used (as other teams have) as leverage for players to get better deals from other teams. But none of this has much to do with the opinions of fans on Thompson’s MO regarding other teams’ free agents. For those who want big name FAs signed most off seasons, it’s little comfort Thompson has dropped out of the bidding after the price reached a certain level. For those of us who would like him to be more active in the “secondary” FA market, it’s little comfort he seems to be inclined to prefer the players on his roster or draftees to the UFAs many of us would prefer.

But posting as if Thompson doesn't care about UFA or doesn’t know about it doesn’t advance the conversation IMO.
