That’s a decent amount of cap. CB is the biggest need. Any FAs look interesting? Of course Hobbs looked interesting.

Stuff happens. I trust Gluten to plug holes where he can. And I look forward to getting a lot of guys back, especially Kraft, Parsons and Wyatt - well as soon as possible into the season.
Trevon Diggs (not Stefan!) was just waived by Dallas. He’s had a down year for him, but career wise, Certainly the most experienced

Not sure what his $$ looks like

I think he’s close to Micah from what I remember. I recall him being vocal about Micah being traded.

His recent play has been poor. Yet he’s had some abrasion with Dallas (fined for training at another facility etc). Just minor dispute stuff but that makes me wonder if he became a problem Dallas and had some effect on his performance. He’s former Probowl but had several injuries. He claims he’s past that now but Dallas was ready to take on a $12mil hit to start 2026 do they just severed ties. If he’d do a minimum deal with incentives might be worth tinkering with.

Maybe Gluten needs to get P on the phone and get a read on what he thinks of Diggs...If its positive im sure P can influence Diggs.

It just so happens we lost a depth piece so we’re 100% looking.

Guys like this are coin flip. We had that similar scenario with an oft injured Dallas LB several years back that kinda fizzled due to several knee operations. Yet then he went to the Giants the next year and had a solid year for them, which was just odd.

Diggs had one good year. Otherwise his entire career he's been essentially just a different name level of CB of Nixon and Valentine in truth.

Follow up to what we saw against Baltimore; OL week before GB OL ranked 28 of 32 teams, beginning of the season GB expected to be #14 ranking. Chi (#4), (Det. #18) Even the Vikes slightly above the GB line. DL not a lot better, inconsistent one grade 37.8. Overall every team in the playoffs OL and DL are rated significantly higher than what GB is fielding. Does not portend a lot of success in game one of the playoffs unless GB lines play better than they have all year .

Cmon now. Keisean Nixon and Carrington “can’t tackle worth a flip” Valentine? Really?

First of all, it wasn’t 1 good year.
Diggs was All Pro 1 that’s not “good” that’s Elite.
#10 (tied) in NFL history for most INT (11) in a single season.

#7 (tied) for most Pick 6 in a single season (NFL history)

#3 for most Passes Defensed per Game in NFL history (50 game minimum)
1. Asante Samuel Sr.
2. Joe Haden
3. Trevon Diggs

Diggs is currently is #1 in PD per game in the NFL among active players. Diggs (.952) is better than Jaire Alexander and Charles Woodson, in PD per game.

Trevon (.303) has more than 200% the INT per game than Jaire Alexander (.150) and tops Charles Woodson’s (.254). He averages an INT just over every 3 games across 66 games.

The primary question has nothing to very little do with ability. He’s had several recent injuries and some questions as to his ability to make a full recovery is his primary concern as just this year he allowed a 150%+ passer rating (using a smaller 8 game stretch though and very likely working back from injuries). So really it’s fair to say that his last semi productive year was
2024.
11 games (well 10+ injury game)
11 PD
2 INT
INT per game (.182) or higher than Jaire career per game average.

Diggs PD per game in 2024 (1.00) was inching towards #1 (1.04) Asante Samuel Sr for the NFL leader in history.

That stat is like the distance to nearest star. Impossible to get your mind wrapped around it. Packers are 0-3 when they don't Punt. 0-1 could be a fluke but 0-3 is unbelievable.
Today's habit of going for it on fourth down probably contributes to the phenomenon, but it still seems strange. It's got to be signaling something, but I'm not entirely sure what it is.

Maybe. For all I know he’s the next J’aire Alexander. I didn’t disagree with he’s got immediate injury concerns. His production drop off right after a knee surgery in January? is mostly what’s spooked everyone. Although there’s some speculation that in addition Diggs rubbed some folks wrong at Dallas so there could be a little pride thingy mixed in the waiver recipe.

I’m just saying that 2 years ago Diggs signed a 5yr $97mil 45% guaranteed EXTENSION. Which infers you expect him to highly likely perform through at least 2025. As much as we dislike Dallas they were the ones who found Diggs and guys like Micah so they know precisely what they have. It’s a 2 sided coin. He might be JA 2.0.

The difference here is if he passes a physical etc. he’s like $450K because he already been paid all his $$. So you’ve got a coin flip he can come in and play starter level and correct me if I’m wrong we absolutely need to be turning over every Rock at CB. We were thin already and 1 more loss to either starter and we’re on fumes. Imagine him coming in and 1 in 3 chance has a little Rasul type bounce back finish. That’s very intriguing imo. Secondly if the Bears get him cheap and he beats us I’m smooth jumping on a fire Gute thread.! Those guys just don’t float by in the middle of an ocean very often.

Reminds me of the story of the guy stranded on a burning boat and praying to god to save him. He sees a cargo ship and they stop and he says “nope I’m waiting on god”. Then sees an army vessel and they stop to help “no thanks! I’m waiting on god!” Then the boat capsized and sunk and goes to heaven. “God why didn’t you save me?!” God shook his head and said
“I did! I kept sending you lifeboats but you’re so picky you kept denying my repeated blessings!”

Oh I’m trying to bring him in but he isn’t the guy many envision when they think of the name.

Are you referring to Micah Hyde. If I recall, he played S in college and GB tried to turn him into a CB. That failed and I think he was traded to Buffalo where he went back to S, and played well.

Not so sure about Trevon Diggs. I mean if Dallas doesn't want him........

OMG I hope there are better CBs in FA than Diggs. The only reason his name is recognized is his brother, Stefan. Both guys have a record of being less-than-stellar teammates' although S Diggs was a pretty good WR as I recall.

But that's a hard "no" of T Diggs for the Packers.

Plus Stefan was just charged with a pretty nasty crime, so, there's that going on in the family.

I'm only sharing because it is just one of the biggest data sites there is everyone recognizes...

One of those two are Diggs, the other is Eric Stokes.

To be fair, Diggs in many ways in coverage is a Nixon. Always looking to make a play - IF he guesses right it can be amazing...but gamblers at CB get feasted on as well. I'm all for it if he clears waivers and we go after him - because WORST case, he's a third outside CB of similar level to what we have now -

Possible interesting tidbit in that Diggs reportedly hired David Mulugheta as his agent now, who currently represents Jordan Love, Micah Parsons, Xavier McKinney, Malik Willis, and Kingsley Enagbare...

This is not super noteworthy as Mulugheta has something like 40+ clients in the league currently but GB is tied with ATL and LAC for most clients represented on a single team for him (5) and is by FAR his most valuable organization represented currently lol.

Anywho just another quick look. Diggs has been down this year but here is his adjusted career single-season averages still (per game where applicable). Compared against our current CBs season-averages:

Passes Defensed:
Diggs 16
Valentine 6
Hobbs 6
Nixon 5

Combined Tackles
Hobbs 84
Diggs 62
Nixon 48
Valentine 38

Solo Tackles
Hobbs 59
Diggs 51
Nixon 35
Valentine 27

Targets per game
Nixon 2.9
Valentine 3.1
Hobbs 4.9
Diggs 5.4

Completion % allowed
Diggs 58%
Valentine 62%
Nixon 67%
Hobbs 73%

Yards allowed per game
Nixon 21
Valentine 25
Hobbs 34
Diggs 45

Yards allowed per completion
Hobbs 10
Nixon 11
Valentine 13
Diggs 14

Passer rating allowed
Diggs 79.2
Nixon 97.7

I'd rather watch from the comfort of my couch. You miss a lot when you are there in person.

As someone that goes to games, as well as watches them on TV, I have mixed feelings about both. Yes, you miss all the camera angles, replays, analysis, etc. when you are at a game. However, when you are watching from home, you miss the fan experience, adrenaline rush, crowd noise, etc.

Definitely pluses and minuses of both. You couldn't pay me to go to this Packers-Vikings game. However, I would shell out quite a bit of money to be there when they play the Bears or Eagles in a meaningful playoff game.

Pass on Diggs. Maybe if was Week 4 and we needed more depth. I don't think Diggs is any better than who we have. He used to be, but not anymore.

Depending on if he has kept himself in playing shape, I would rather see the Packers bring in Stephon (Not Happy) Gilmore. No, he isn't the same player as he once was, but I think with his fresh legs and high football IQ, he gives you more in the playoffs than a Trevon Diggs does.

We had Kamal out there actively on defense and he is hurt. Our 3rd option outside is Hobbs...I'll take Diggs LOL

I think Hobbs was put on IR or Matt said he is probably done for the season.

There is no doubt that the Packers need and will bring in more CB help, I just don't think Diggs is the best option out there. Again, I don't know a lot about Diggs locker room persona, football IQ, ETC. but it does sound like he wore his welcome out in Dallas.
