I think Johnathan? Ford NT has a legit shot. I think he’s going to win out over Stack as our #2 NT option for short yardage. He was poached off our PS and resigned the second he was cut. He’s got like 4 years of experience and he’s cheap and obviously well liked. I don’t think we liked he was stolen to begin with. He was ready to take a bigger role and big he is. Maybe he’s a first option PS again, but I think his experience wins out over Stack. We need to stiffen up in the middle DL if we’re tested and tested we will be. I’m not sure I trust Stack he’s probably a year away yet from ready just imo. I think we’ll keep a pure NT though. At a trim 6’5” 340lb he’s a load to move and I think we always kinda hope our 7th rounders pop. Just a pride thing.

I don't think Gluten has much choice but to add a veteran RB. Even if Jacobs doesn't get charged, the NFL can and will punish players over domestic abuse allegations, and severely. If that does happen, there will be a lengthy investigation by the NFL, well I think it could be lengthy. So Jacobs could start the season, only to be suspended down the road.

That affects he timing of when Gluten adds a veteran RB. The need though is apparent. Let's hope Lloyd puts the last two years waaaaay behind him and comes out firing.
Agreed. I had made that comment, though, BEFORE the Jacobs news broke. So now a RB add is even MORE important.

Think the NFL is waiting for more facts to emerge or for law enforcement to proceed in one direction or another.
Yes and there’s still plenty of time before any meaningful football.

I’m pretty sure we both know that Brian n Co are doing due diligence on backup options. I was actually kind of surprised we didn’t draft at RB. Although we were light on draft picks and RD4 would’ve been the ideal Round. We took Dani Dennis and I totally understand that move. We used late RD5 to trade up for McClellan and we had to bolster that group also. I guess I can live with that. I could see using a Day 3, 2027 Draft pick if needed to pry one off someone’s depth chart.

Uncertainty always makes life difficult. At least Lombardi knew well in advance that he would not have Hornung for 1963.
