Just checked the NFL.com stats column

Green Bay is 7th on overall offense...22nd on defense. Not too many weeks ago they were middle of the pack on offense and last on defense.

They also have run more plays than any other team in the NFL, which shows they are controlling the clock.

The Monday night game stats might alter it a bit, but they are getting better.

The best thing about the Pack has been watching the defense come together, really pressuring opposing quarterbacks. And the coverage is better... which makes it absolutely maddening when they do have those total breakdowns that cost us TDs, like against Buffalo and Minnesota. Nothing worse than seeing the QB lob a hug pass into the air, then the camera scrolls and you see the opposing wide receiver just standing there waiting to catch it, with no Packers in site.. grrr...

But I digress.. LOL.. there is definite improvement.

We lead everybody in sacks(31) vs. sacked(11) at +20. There are teams at -20. The Chargers are at +17 and no one else is close.

You can't do much better in regards to applying pressure and preventing it. So far we the bes' they is.

Equally important is the QB pressures over the last few weeks. We have gotten way more better there. Ever since they ditched the dime and left Hawk in and are bringing the LB's more.

A world of difference.

Yes, leaving Hawk in there on third downs has been huge. Also, having one less defensive back on the field means one less player coached by Schottenheimer.

Packer Offense not only is 7th in offense, but they have run 615 offensive plays, the most in the NFL!! They are 8th in time of possesion, 6th in passing yards, 16 in rushing yards and 17th most penalized offense. The Packer offense is 13th in first downs.

Despite the offense having the most plays, the defense is out there for the 9th most plays.
The defense is also
22nd in yards/game
21st in yards/play
20th in first downs/game
11th in penalties(Carroll is gone now)
16th in yards penalized.

can we get a "do over" on the season?
With the experience that the players have gotten I think they could easily be 6-3 at this point.

Now what we need to do is to get our scoring stats on par:

16th in scoring offense
27th in scoring defense

I love that quarters style defense they play on 3rd downs. 3 DE's 3 LB's and 5 DB's. QB never knows how many LB's are coming either.
