I got a burning concern for the upcoming seasons with the Packers and (You quest it.) Micah Parsons.

Apparently, he will miss a couple games coming out of the gate for season 2026.
Don't get me wrong, I realize he is a great edge rusher and will undoubtedly be in the HF.

My concern is why the Packers, (or any other team) have to rely so much on one player offense or defense.
like Micah and Tucker Kraft when there's 51 other players on the team to make the difference

Can one great player make that much of a difference??
And who's to say when Parsons and Tucker Kraft return they will light up the score board again??

BTW, I never would of paid the price to mortgage the farm and missing out on two years of draft picks on one player, JMO

So one small change to PUP is the league allows a player to start practicing on Week 3. While that sounds trivial, imo it’s not for a player of Parson’s Caliber. The most accurate forecast as of today is Micah will practice Weeks3,4 and return to live games the second that PUP window closes. To me, that change is a form of ramping play a full 2 weeks earlier.

In the meantime I think the Packers will utilize some Stunts using Wyatt and Hargrave. Plus We’ll likely get to see some depth getting snaps. That can actually be advantageous because we otherwise would not get to see as much in the way of snaps from depth players. What if someone like Cox Jr or Sorrell or Oliver or DDS etc. makes a statement early in?

That doesn’t even speak to a LB like Franklin or Cooper being used more downhill in the Pass Rush over what we saw from 2025 LB’s. Both LB’s have a history of success in Rushing the Passer. Similar to what Eric Wilson used to do. Someone in MN did what I suggested years ago in that they used Eric more aggressively. Eric logged 6.5 Sacks last season and we have LB’s that are similarly talented. Zaire had 10 Sacks and 33 TFL in the last 4 seasons. That’s something I would use to exploit out opponent.

The Steelers always had strong defenses. But take away Watt or Polamalu and it was a different game plan. Even though the Packers had plenty of good D players in the 90s, when Reggie was even on the sidelines it changed the scenario.

Thanks, your right.
I forgot how Reggie White inspired our defense

Interesting you guys are mentioning that aspect. I was just watching Leroy Butler on Tausch and Wilde like last week. He mentioned how when a team gets a Bonafide HOF level player, that it raises the bar for everyone around them. I think he was speaking from experience with Reggie. Yet he did mention how Micah seemed to elevate the play of those around him. When he went down it also had a reciprocal effect.

The worst player in the NFL is an excellent athlete and football player. It's the truly special players that are the difference.

Yup.

Never any guarantee that any player will be that good year over year.

A lot of great players that had many great seasons. Only a handful were great every year they played. The one that comes to mind was Jim Brown. And he retired after 9 seasons.
