Fair enough, well worth $15K to Clay, and 4 points to the defenses mojo & reputation.
They were labeled as soft..... they didn't play soft vs the run.
He couldn't have stopped his momentum, but he didn't have to wrap him up and drag him down. As for if he knew Kaepernick was out of bounds, NFL players tend to have an instinct for that. Again, he was wrapped up in the heat of the moment. He let his emotions get the best of him. It happens. From watching Rizzo's gif, and I would love to get others opinions on this, I still have a hard time seeing if it was intentional or not.
Does anyone think that Clay could have stopped himself?
Did he see that CrapperKnickers was out of bounds?
Or were they both simultaneous actions but Clay didn't see or think the QB was going out of bounds?
“Probably punch him in the face,” Boone said, via CSNBayArea.com. “I don’t want his money.”
I don't get it. So Alex Boone was pissed about the play. So what? It was a late hit, not an attempt to injure Kaepernick. If Clay would have wanted to injure him, he would have went low or went for the head.Does your opinion of the play change after reading this? Probably seems like I came here to post this to gloat, but I think it's very relevant to the topic. People are going to be talking about this one for a while.
I don't believe that to be true.....me and my friends loved it. i don't see all of us pissing and moaning about that nice shot in the back ahmad brooks gave aaron rodgers.
and alex boone is a *****.
Don't get me wrong... I think I tend to agree with most of this. Curiosity gets the best of me, however: if you don't believe that he meant to injure Kaepernick, what do you believe was his intent with the hit/tackle? To end the play? I'm probably playing devil's advocate at this point but meh, I'm bored and it's good discussion.I don't get it. So Alex Boone was pissed about the play. So what? If people are talking about this after this weekend it's only because the media has blown it way out of proportion. If it weren't for people misinterpreting Clay's comments on Mike & Mike last week, nobody would be talking about this. It was one dumb play at a bad time that turned a potential defensive stop into an eventual SF touchdown. Nothing more, nothing less.
Its easy to say it a few days later after the incident. As one of the comments said, I USED to respect the 49ers but they are just thugs. It was an unfortunate hit out of bounds, he didn`t kill him.Does your opinion of the play change after reading this?
