LB Richards USC

because of the surprise pick last year, all the mock-draft guys are picking odd-ball selections for the Packers, on the off chance that they are right. then they get to gloat about it until next year.

Re: LB Richards USC

this is because a lot of "experts" r saying richards is the best LB in the draft and that could be too good to refuse with a high pick like green bay

if Rivers is available at 30 that will be hard pick NOT to make, but most drafts have him in the top 15 that I've seen. Unless we trade up for him I don't think he will be there.

Isn't Rivers ranked #1 LB in the draft by many people? (I count Gholston as a DE)

That's probably why some mocks have us taking him. TT doesn't like to draft for need - he's a BPA kinda guy, and most mock draft architects know that by now.

If Rivers is BPA at #30, I wouldn't be a bit surprised with the pick.

Nor would I be upset. I don't think any team can have too many linebackers. It's a very injury-prone position, and backup linebackers make the best special-teamers.
