The Pack and Eagles have the same record.
The Pack beat the Eagles on their turf.
I know that the Eagles have won their division.
Still, it doesn't seem fair that the Pack has to travel.

Oh well. If the Pack can do it once, why not do it again?

It makes even less sense that the Saints have to travel to Seattle. Home field advantage should be determined by overall record, then conference record. It should not be determined by seed.

There's been much debate over re-seeding the playoffs, mostly due to the 11 win New Orleans Saints having to travel to the 7 win Seattle Seahawks for their first playoff game today.

That said, it could go both ways. If we won our division, we would be hosting at least one playoff game. Maybe next time we'll win a couple games we should and not lose the one we shouldn't.

Yeah, maybe if the Packers didn't sit down in a couple of winnable games, they would be at home this week. It's their own damn fault they are on the road. 3 points against the Lions!?? C'mon man.

Yup. Washington and Detroit. Atlanta. Three winnable, NFC games we found a way to lose. Especially Washington and Detroit. We win those, we're sitting home this week with a first round bye and rooting for Chicago's opponent, instead of the other way around.

I think the system is right for the simple reason you never know how strong a divison is going to be. You could play in a really tough divison and finish 10-6 were as if you played in a different divison you wuold finish 12-4. If you have a wild card finish 11-5 from a top heavy divison they would get home field and thats not really fair either.

Bears Country... UGH!!
There's nothing unfair about it. Is what it is. They won their division, we didn't... So off to Philly we go. Maybe we should learn how to close out the close games so we're not in this situation from now on.

The only thing unfair is that its their second home game against us in one season. But that is how the system works, and for the NFC West mess, who saw something like that coming ever?

Yes it does make sense. We won our division and Vick didnt start til the 3rd qtr against you guys and probably wouldve won had he started that game. Word of advice next time win your division and we wont be having this conversation.

We should be banned from postseason play for even losing to Detroit.

Alright... not really. But the solution for us was a simple one. Win one of six games.... we didn't.

Yeah Vick wasnt prepared to start against you guys either. He wasnt even taking first team reps with the number 1's and look how he performed. This will be a very exciting game and a game for the ages. Im a little nervous about this game because it could go either way.

Exactly. If our o-line doesn't show up today it could be another Lion game.

I'm okay with the system the way it is, divisional games should be huge. It's a large part of the rivalry thing. The 9ers didn't fire *********** until after they were out of it. As bad as they were, the fans still enjoyed the possibility.
The Packers should have won one or more and this wouldn't even be a talking point. The Atlanta game still burns!!!

current system's okay. I would be fine with it either way. I think it is a little interesting that all 4 wild card games this year are in the city's with worse records than the visiting teams. I'm sure the saints aren't too happy about the current rules right now... no question in my mind that NO dominates that game if it was in New Orleans.

Pretty much the same as a bunch of rules. Nothing's perfect.

vick is vick you dont forget how to run, and run is what he did on our defense. We didnt prepair for VICK the advantage goes to the offense its common sense. Stop being a homer we had a game plan for a NON running qb.

anyone who thinks the playoff structure needs adjusting should jjust look at yesterday. It went in both directions.

SEA was able to use its HF advantage to win in a huge upset, while the IND squandered their HF away and allowed the Jets to win.

In both cases, the "Better" team was traveling (same as we will be today, same as the Ravens today). What happens is that the BETTER team WILL win. IND is no cakewalk at home, just ask the likes of the AFC elite over the last 10 years. SEA is a TOUGH place to play, maybe top 5 in terms of the 12th man.

The goal is ultimately to get the 1 seed for every team. If you do not secure the 1 seed, you leave some portion of your scenario to chance and allow other factors to dictate the circumstances of your postseason. The seeding as is, it works, and gave us some AMAZING football yesterday.

If the SAINTS and JETs would have hosted those games, and say the INDY game went the same, but the NO game was flipped to the Saints winning, yesterday would have been a pretty average day of playoff FB.

Instead, we got a SAT to remember for not months, but one that will be brought up for SEASONs moving forward.

Keep it as it is.

All the teams have to play by the same rules including the Packers. If the Packers are a SB team they will beat the Eagles on their turf. It's that simple! To much complaining about luck, should have could have, and fairness on these forums.

It's the playoffs. The cream of the crop will rise to the top. All other talk is idiotic!
