I don't know if there is a universe where you play two slot corners, but Nixon might be better there than on an island.

I was thinking. I bet if you got Nixon in a Bar and a few drinks he’d get in a fight before he found a bar stool. Matter of fact he’d that guy that would get kicked out for trying to steal your seat and causing a Ruckus

That's worth considering gopkrs. I'm no Nixon fan, mostly because of his lack of self-discipline, and the resulting PFs that just kill drives.

Even so, he rates pretty high on pass break ups. I was surprised when I read this.

I had hoped they'd put him back on kick returns, where he is solid. Putting him in the slot is interesting. I think his coverage area would "shrink" - not quite sure on that.

The question is - woud he be better than Bullard, who I think mostly plays slot CB. I think that given his size and aggressiveness, Bullard makes a better S.

Does anyone know where Bullard lined up the most last season - at slot or S?

Anyway the idea of putting Nixon at the slot is interesting.

That’s true. We don’t want to completely erase what makes Nixon a good player personality wise either, but I agree that he draws too many PF’s. If we could just get some mitigation of that down to 5-7 PF goal in a season as an area of focus? He’d really be a slightly above average yo good CB. I agree negative plays like PF to factor somewhere in the occasion.

Possible we could use Keisean just on Kickoffs. As long as he doesn’t recreate the opening play fumble of our Eagles Playoff Loss.

Isaiah really saved a dismal 2021 Draft. I’d say TJ Slaton and Isaiah were our best picks. I’ll give Stokes an honorable mention, but for a RD1 pick he was a relative disappointment.

Isaiah is contracted through his 7th season, which in itself puts him in a somewhat better class of draft picks in itself.

Agreed and thanks for the clarification. Now that you mention it, I don't know if there are two slot corners. I thought there was only one.

Regardless, Bullard has played very well from his rookie year. He's a very physical corner, something the Packers could use.

Hey @gopkrs. Bullard has several highlight clips in OTA’s and mini camp too. One pass he high pointed and picked off with perfect balance and would’ve returned it regaining his feet. He just looks like he’s hitting his stride. It looked so smooth, the entire Staff and Players looked like they Won a playoff game as he skipped around.

Nothing personal but I’d still trade him for one of my draft picks, I went back n forth between Jaden Hicks and Calen Bullock in RD3 like 5 times. He’s Just a great All Around Safety.

Agreed. The 2021 draft wasn't very good. Stokes played well his rookie season, and then disappeared. I don't know if he's still in the NFL. Slaton was a good value pick. I'm still surprised the Packers let him walk. They weren't willing to match another offer, I think.

TJ Slaton was very good for a mid Day 3 pick. However he’s averaging $7.3Mil annual and imo that’s a bit heavy. I have him in the $5Mil area impact. His PFF grade in 2025 was a terrible 44 grade. But in his Defense I think he was better than that. 3 Sacks, 4 TFL, very low missed tackle % etc.

Yet him staying would likely negate our Javon Hargrave. Even at 30yrs old, he’s in a class above TJ. Again not to beat a dead horse but very close to Kenny Clark type overall impact player. Here’s Hargreaves’ average yearly Cap hits

Just not a huge difference for a clear upgrade veteran. Nothing against TJ like you said he was very serviceable and had he taken a 2yrX $9-10Mil area I would’ve loved to keep him. $14.6Mil 2yr is too aggressive imo.

Although I’m glad because that departure got us a RD7 pick, which was used to lock down Smack. We shall see
