Rivalries are good but the Scotland v England game is pretty meaningless other than for the usual silly bragging rights. Its only really mattered once at Euro 96 if ever there was a game that mattered it was that one, McAllister scores the penalty Gascoigne taken off, no killer second goal.:rolleyes: :D

On a more serious note.

Thats it, gang up on the quiet English bloke sitting in the corner...bullies :roflmao:.
It`s such a shame about Gasgoigne because he`s always come across as a likeable guy. I DO hope he makes it, but sadly I don`t think he will beat it. Such a waste of a great talent

My son is a devoted Jacksonville Jaguars fan. He said their owner is trying to buy Fulham. That would make what? 5 NFL owners with teams in the epl.

Yep the deal has now gone through he is the new owner of Fulham who are CFCs midget local rivals. I don't know why Americans bother to buy EPL clubs other than to raise their world wide profile, or to use a team as a cash cow like the Glazers do.

And so it begins Jose is either testing the water with a cheeky low bid, or having a barrel full of laughs at United's expense with no intention of buying Rooney at all. For what its worth i think he wants him.

A chinese ricefarmer in charge at Stamford Bridge ?:D
I read they offered David Luiz and/or Juan Mata as part of the deal, so I assume this was
a serious attempt to sign Rooney.
As said before, I think Rooney is on the decline, not the best idea to sign him although Im of the opinion that
Mourinho is one of the very few managers who could get him back on track.

Thats one of Jose's strengths serious about the football but also there is a fun element in his method.
Straight cash offer Luiz or Mata were not included, apparently that was a ManU false counter rumor. If they signed him its a risk, but as far as i know he does not rate the current strikers. Drogba returning was even mentioned!. Rooney could turn out to be another misfit like Torres. £200K pw wages, if hes on the decline at 27 i think that sums up modern footballers no motivation. He should be in his prime as a player.

Hmm, how do you know, PackerFan71 ?
But I'm sure you are better informed whats going on at Chelsea than I am ;)
Anyway - it doesnt make any sense to let David Luiz go and I completely agree, they shouldnt make the same mistake twice by signing a striker who doesnt fit to Chelsea.
That means roundabout 10 m GBP per year, right ? No way, he isnt worth that money anymore. His best years are behind him although he should be in his prime as you wrote.
He will be the next Michael Owen if he doesnt turn around his career now.
Always liked Rooneys style of play but he obviously isnt the sharpest tool in the box....

Jose had a press conference in the far east where the team are playing pre season games, and thats what he said straight from the horses mouth as they say. He said Rooney or bust whatever that means.

Its hard to say who knows Rooney might thrive as a number one striker, he would be what Drogba was for Mourinho. But if his form and desire are there.....thats another matter.

Nope not the brightest you wonder what he will be like after he stops playing Gazza MK2 if hes not careful.

Thanks to a fellow Packer Backer from Scotland my English improves slowly but steadily ;)

If he tries to get you saying "they can take our lives, but they`ll never take our freedom !", put him on ignore :D

Whos playin? nah not for me that one ill watch it for a bit on TV if its a good game.

49ers are playing the Jaguars and the week later the Steelers are playing the Vikings. I was due to go but the guy I was going to go with had to pull out. I didn`t bother getting a ticket after that. I`ve been to a few previous games though. It`s a good day out

Ahh the NFL games! ha i though you meant the England v Scotland thing. If i was closer id consider it if the Pack was playing, but im too far away and its at the wrong time of year. Would be a good experience though.

Yeah, I understand that. I saw the Bears play a few years ago....lol, that was fun. I got into a conversation with a decent American Bears fan over his shirt. He asked me if I would be rooting for the Bears, which I said was unlikely, but as he was such a nice guy I`d try. As the first Bears came out of the tunnel I was on my feet booing. The guy tapped my arm, and with a big grin on his face he said "Yeah man,you really tried hard there !". I bought him a beer as compensation....lol

either of you guys going to Wembley this year ?
No, only if the Packers would play although the 49ers are an attractice alternative.
I guess we wont see the Packers at Wembley in the near future but luckily I had the opportunity
to see them at Lambeau field last year and the year before.
But I know a Vikings fan who will go to see his team in London.
Hopefully they air the games on TV...?

Oh I think both games will be televised. I would have supported the Jags out of respect to my friend, but I think they`ll get creamed by the 49ers to be honest. The thought of seeing the Vikings get mauled by the Steelers would be worth the money alone....lol
