Good festive period of football, its the main reason that i'm totally against a winter break that Van Gaal seems to be pleading for. 3 games in a week, and then the FA Cup to top it all off at the weekend, great stuff.

To think that the millionaire kiddie footballers have to work three days in a week, my heart bleeds NOT.

I totally agree. I love watching football on Boxing Day and New Years Day. Best thing ever. Wish the Bundesliga would do the same.

Sheesh. Bundesbiers told me never to cheer for his team because the same thing happened when I wanted them to win. I guess I'll cheer for Hamburg some. After all they can't get any worse. :whistling:

can we just make sure that in this thread we use the word football not soccer, it might at least gte used in one thread properly :roflmao:

Then perhaps the English shouldn't have invented the word Soccer. The English called it soccer before they changed and started calling it football. We Americans just like to be faithful to the original names. :D

Fate has united Prinz Poldi and Roberto Mancini. I wonder how this is going to work out.

This will be his last chance.
He failed at Bayern, he failed at Arsenal and I'm afraid he will fail at Inter Milan too. I really like this guy but I get more and more the impression that he was and is nothing but overrated.

One of those rare breed of players that seems to be at his best playing in the international tournaments. There was this one guy who used to play for Werder Bremen. I can't seem to remember his name. Miroslav something or other. :D He didn't exactly light it up for FC Bayern either. :p

Thats true but he has a much better record than Poldi. But obviously both didn't match the expectations.
Always loved Podolskis style of play, directly trying to get into the box and score. But that simply doesn't fit to Mr. Wenger "one touch football". Maybe thats why he failed ?

I think hes another one of those players who should have stayed in Germany and watched their stock rise, Wengers lost it bigtime little wonder Plodi struggled at arsenal Hummels beware!

Hmmm...don't you think he is too young for this move ? A return to Cologne might be more liklely imho.
But the MLS is getting more and more attractive and even Gerrard is now moving to LA.

Cologne doesn't have the money to pay the transfer fee to Arsenal. Not really sure which Bundesliga side could have besides Bayer, Volkswagon or Bayer. I think Poldi could've made Freiburg a better side, but doubtful that they could've paid that transfer fee amount also.

I think he simply should have stayed with Cologne. On the other hand, as an ambitious player as he was its understandable that he is trying to make it to a top tier team.
