Sherman said it was initially numb and he got it injured at the bottom of a pile. That does not sound good.

At his meeting with the press he did not say which knee. It appears Navies and Thompson will be starting.

Please post any updates you may hear.

Diggs' Injury

I can't find any info about a Diggs' injury.

When did it happen and what is going on?

I hope I didn't jinx us with my Depth post earlier!?!?!

That's one thing I hate about training camp. It seems there's constantly players getting hurt, the injury list just keeps getting longer, and you never know how serious they are. Every time you hear a good players name mentioned, one has to hold their breath.

I was at the Packer practice today. I believe it was Davenport ran the ball into the line and everyone got up but Diggs. He stayed down a long time. Favre and several other players came over to wish him well as Pepper was out there working on him. Then they brought the cart out. They put him in the cart and took him up to the stadium. There were lots of players coming up to him wishing him well. I was standing over by the media gate during the afternoon practice and several media members asked about him and the word was "no comment". I overheard one of the media specialists from Milwaukee complain that someone most know something. As of 4:00 this afternoon there was no word. I would say it didn't look good based on how long he was down on the field and the fact that Sherman was with him the whole time. Normally the coach lets the trainers work on a player and they go back to work with the team. That didn't happen today.

Bates said recently the outside LB's are exchangable. I suspect what his does is give Navies the inside at his current position and puts Thompson where Diggs was.
At a minimum he's out for a week or two...

Injuries are a part of football, but this weakens a mediocre set of 'backers.

I hope this spurs the Packers to take a second look at signing a FA to help this position. I think this is one of the weakest links on the defense. Even BEFORE the Diggs injury, mind you.
Lenon looked worse than a rookie Friday night, and he's our first guy off the bench now.

Well I would speculate that an MRI will be done to finalize the analysis. The problem is conditioning while the knee rehabs. If 6 weeks is optimistic I would add a couple of weeks of conditioning as insurance before his return.

Navies and Thompson are competent and this may help Manning make the team as he can be sent to the practice squad after clearing waivers. Lenon is not practice squad eligible.

Praise the Lord this is not as bad as it might have been.
