Wow, doom and gloom. The main omission from this rant is that the Bears are doing just fine without Benson. The present RB core in Chicago has ran for a higher average than any team so far during this preseason. With a healthy O-line, the RBs and, dare I say, QBs will be in a much different situation than last year. The Bears should let Benson sit out the year and save their money. Benson would have to go in to the draft again next year. Would he still be the #4 pick. Probably not. The Bears do not miss him.

And don't get me started on the Defense....

I hope to see Orton as well. So the Packers can slap him up like the Badgers did and the boy can get the full WI whoopin!

Nothing personal against the guy, but he IS a Bear now.

They had enough depth at RB last year with Thomas Jones, Adrian Peterson and Anthony Thomas so they should have drafted Mike Williams over Benson. Jerry Angelo is a moron and for every good move he makes he kills it with 2 or 3 bad ones. I worry a lot more about Chad Hutchinson playing than Cedric Benson not.

With the Packers sorry defense you may want to rethink that. Hope for Chad Hutchinson if you are smart.

Smart? That has nothing to do with it. It's a BEAR QB even the Packers D can slap'em around.

Once defenses start stacking the line to counter the run you'll soon see any hope of the RBs doing anything. Same as last year.

Michael Haynes would be a starter for the Packers and half of the teams in the NFL but has a hard time getting on the field with the Bears because they have a number of very good defensive linemen.
Could you give Jim Bates a call - oh wait, cancel that... He already knows that about this guy....
Maybe you should alert Mr. Haynes to possbily give Jim Bates a call - for a better employment gig!

Do you mean like they did in that game in Green bay last year?

Orrelse, in the past few years I would agree with you about the defenses stacking the line. The Bears had no strength in creating holes and holding back the blitzes. This is a much improved line with a much different, aggressive O.C. in Turner. While the line is stacked, the opportunity for throwing a deep one has opened in this new Bears' offense, and he has shown it a few times already this preseason.
