I can't believe that nobody mentioned this yet. I'm a fan of promoting from within when you've got solid in-house talent. It sounds like Rodgers wanted an old QB that could help him become the saavy veteran, but McCarthy might have been more focused on developing Harrell and whomever we pull through the draft to be the third QB.
