I've never read such depressing takes ever in my life...how is the draft and prospect evaluations and seeing how your board stacks up at the turn of each pick NOT SOMETHING YOU CRAVE.....

(signed) Delusionally Obsessed Draft Nut who will be at his birthday dinner with his wife likely updating his excel big board on his phone during dinner LOL
I’m a fan, not a fanatic.

I didn't watch the draft, but did look at the picks this am. I don't see any names on there that have been mentioned in Packer 2nd round mocks. Is that right?

It was a smart pick aligned with need for them
Agreed. The Bears will be focused on their D this offseason, and the S from Oregon, Thieneman, was a solid step in that direction.

We're just not used to the Bears doing smart things with personnel. That has certainly changed.

Unless they face major injuries, the Bears will not be an easy out this coming season, for any team. Their offense is already loaded, and they are working on D now.

That CB everyone was hoping would fall to 52, was gone early ....
Vikes getting a "D" grade on the one thing I seen for that 6'6" 327 DT the vikes got. Comes in low and fast off the snap. He will be tough to handle..... That's what we need.

Maybe it was wishful thinking. But I think that CB the draft gurus wanted, went mid 1st rd, instead of slipping to #52. But maybe I got players mixed up. I didn't put the due diligence into research this year.

I think you are talking about Chris Johnson? The Dolphins moved up from #30 to take him at #27. Some may have called it a reach, but the dude can play both boundary or slot cornerback in the NFL. He also fills a big need that the Dolphins had. I would have loved to see him slide to #52, but I think most knew that wasn't going to happen. I also wouldn't have liked to see Gute trade 3 picks to move up to say 40 to get him.

Same here. Poker caught that only 2 CBs were taken last night. Seems very possible a CB Gluten liked for round 1 will still be there at 352.

I noticed that too. Not many edge rushers either.... Considering the trends.

There were two notre dame RBs picked though. Lol which is weird.

I think it's a fair deal on both sides
I just wondered what made Reed the one to get the gold instead of Wicks or Doubs before they left. To me they were like the 3 Amigos. Watson is in a different category.

Reed was injured last year, but was our leading receiver in both of his first two seasons on the team.

Sorry, I accidentally typed Watson instead of Reed.

IMO the top 3 ranked very closely. For me it went- Doubs, Watson, Reed and Wicks a distant 4th.

Well... we signed one WR to an extension.

This makes me very happy. :). I think we were offering reed for a 1st and nobody bit. Honestly I'm much happier with this news than I would've been with a trade for a 1st and a new rookie on the roster.

So this translates to $55mil over 4 years with $26 mil guaranteed. $14mil a year average. I'm stoked.
Absolutely not, I was actually shocked at the figure both in total and the guarantee.

If we know or are signing Watson to extension I say no WR pick till our third pick of the draft IMO
Me too. I think he made a great decision to stay in Greenbay.

Out of the three, I'd say Reed was the best keeper. With doubs a close 2nd. Doubs contract ending a year sooner probably was the deciding factor. Logistics....

Savion williams, I believe was meant to replace wicks. A faster version.

Didn't believe this was going to happen but I am happy.

Reed is a skillset we don't have, he's a playmaker and I love the type of attitude he brings.

Watson/Golden and Reed is a hell of a trio.
This negates my Amish 55th prediction of drafting Wetgen... thought Wetgen might be replacement for Reed.

I think GB was going to do that too if reed and rosenhaus didn't take what was offered.
Something tells me Reed was being shipped for that Miami #30, and the target we were after got picked and ruined the move. That Chris Johnson CB our target possibly?

Just an odd timing for a contract extension. It tells a story.
