I thought he was bad. When not giving up a sack, he was almost giving up one

As a LT Jenkins gave up 12 total pressures across 8 games, so just 1.5 per game.
For referencing some guys games if folks are wondering if that is good or normal or what?

Rasheed Walker 2024 season - 37 pressures in 18 games (includes WC). That is 2.05 per game.
David Bakhtiari's 2019 season - 37 Pressures in 18 games (included two playoff games). That is again a 2.05 per game rate.
Bakhtiari's cut short incredible season of 2020 - 9 pressures in 12 games .75 per game.
Tom's 2023 RT season - 37 in 19 games (included playoffs) which is 1.95 per game.
Tom's 2024 season - 28 in 18 games or 1.55 per game

I'm certain there were times the rusher was closing in but it wasn't called a pressure. That's what I saw.

While I wouldn't call him a Pro Bowler at LT or RT, he is very capable of stepping into either position and performing at a decent level. This is the type of Offensive Lineman that Gute and the Packers seem to covet. Injuries seem to happen during a game, and if a lineman goes down, even if you have to shuffle some starters to different positions, it is optimal to have your best 5 players out there. That is versus running in maybe a rookie, that hasn't seen a lot of action at a particular position.
I think we lost two playoff ganes because imho of bad tackle play. Was he a tackle in one of those? I don't remember

Jenkins, ridiculous decision with 2 yrs left, not another dime if I am GB- play this year as you signed to play OL, then you an work with management to decide if you are worth more money, an extension, etc.. Why would GB acede to his demand?

Hang on…so many of you hold the player to the “you signed this deal play” okay then why not say GB has to pay him for that final year? It’s contract structure EVERYONE knew that final year ain’t happening…so naturally this is the time to discuss stuff.

Everyone familiar with contract structures saw this coming - my bet is GB is willing to talk otherwise it would have been a hard no and it would be mum is the word.

I’m in total agreement. J’aire gives us the best immediate success at CB and it’s gamble worth pursuing. I’m not suggesting massive guaranteed, but maybe a restructure adding a year and some modest guaranteed to keep him here an extra season (contract out +1yr)
There is really no point in talking about potential massive guarantees. Green Bay doesn't do that except for franchise QB. Everyone else gets the standard 25-33% guarantee at best.

Jaire was guaranteed $30M with his last contract. Despite percentages of total contract, I would call that massive.

Well that’s not true either look at Savage. He got $8mil fully guaranteed. Is that 25-33% obviously not. 100% guaranteed on a short term deal. So it’s only on 5th year Day1’s right?? Nope.

The best CB contract just got 99% ($89mil) guaranteed this year. No way does J’aire sign a 25-33% guaranteed short term 1-2 deal unless it’s $45Mil yearly meaning it’s 99.9% impossible.

So yes. His guaranteed is massive if he’s clicking at over 35% and eating 9% of 1 pizza split 50+ ways.

Savage never got a deal here and was only here under rookie deal?

I'm just guessing but didn't we not go for the 5th year and instead signed him to a 1 year deal.
They declined fifth year and did a restructure. One year or even two year type deals are dramatically different than signing longer term contracts, which in the case of longer term deals, GB outside of QB operates well below the typical guaranteed money vs the league.

I'm pretty sure that they exercised Savage's 5th year option, which was close to $8M. However, they added void years to stretch out the cap hit.
