Ahh, the glorious Dan Devine years
Yeah it was so bad the local "fans" shot and killed his dog. Hey I'm all for criticizing an underperforming player, GM and HC. This was extreme, and with national news, an embarrassment to the entire team and its fan base.Ahh, the glorious Dan Devine years
The great thing about being 1-2 and at the bottom. There’s nowhere to go but up. There are teams every year that have a terrible start and actually look competitive later in the season.Or plateau as a winning team each season but with limited success if the post-season.
I don't ever remember GB having an OL this bad. Lombardi couldn't coach this team up.
Well you get a ton of points on optimism OS! I think the team that went to the NFCCG against the hags started 1-2. Rodgerw made his famous "R-E-L-A-X" comment after the second loss. The great thing about being 1-2 and at the bottom. There’s nowhere to go but up. This team doesn’t need to win 11 of the next 13 and Love doesn’t need to be Rodgers or play hero. Baby stepsWell you get a ton of points on optimism OS! I think the team that went to the NFCCG against the hags started 1-2. Rodgerw made his famous "R-E-L-A-X" comment after the second loss.
This team isn't that team, and Love isn't Rodgers.
Very, very few of today's NFL players will be a starter at Rodgers' age. That is a credit to him. No more Bradys or Blandas. This team doesn’t need to win 11 of the next 13 and Love doesn’t need to be Rodgers or play hero. Baby steps
This team needs to win 1 of the next 2 games OR 2 of the next 4 games imo.
At 2-3 or 3-4?
Jacobs will likely be back or close to it OR Green Bay will perfect a trade at RB worst case scenario. That’s enough time for the OL to gel some also. The OL does not need to play top 10 ranked or hug NFC Championship levels. Their goal should be to do enough to limit self destructive flags and allow an extra 0.5 sec for Love to survey the field and plant and throw, plus opening some running lanes on each possession.
The Defense will likely have Parsons suited up midseason and both Van Ness and him coming off the Edges, which makes a substantial difference off current options. A few opponent drives per game will stall that otherwise would’ve turned into chewing 4-5 minutes and avoids those bonus drives putting points on the scoreboard and flipping momentum. We’re losing TOP and that’s not ideal. That’s an extra Drive or 2 for us and not them.
While I’ve been supporting of Aaron (because he’s a flawed human like each of us) I don’t think anyone will or should try to replicate him.
The "fan" lived in his neighborhood and the dog had been repeatedly raiding his hen house. Neighbor was fed up.Yeah it was so bad the local "fans" shot and killed his dog. I suppose in today's weird world, it would not even make the news.
At this point, I need to see improvement from the OL rather than talk about it. If the guys Gluten picked up this week don't work out, it's gonna be a long season. This team doesn’t need to win 11 of the next 13 and Love doesn’t need to be Rodgers or play hero. Baby steps

I 100% agree. Now obviously the question begs, will 6 days be enough time?At this point, I need to see improvement from the OL rather than talk about it. If the guys Gluten picked up this week don't work out, it's gonna be a long season.
I do agree with this line: Brian has done his part IMO. Just not the same way you do.I 100% agree. Now obviously the question begs, will 6 days be enough time?
This is a tough deal for the Packers and Staff. My thoughts are watching how they respond to this tremendous adversity. Brian has done his part imo. Landen and Kevin have 360+ starts combined. By Chicago both should be playing.
We talk about (the FO talks about) acquiring players who overcome adversity. If we want those players to overcome adversity then our Coaches need to display how to do it and live out that example. Otherwise it’s just talk. We all know talk is cheap. As you said it’s time to put on our clothing (our actions on display).
While it sucks about Edgerrin, imo Micah Parsons would be our best Defender. It's week 4 and we've already lost our best offensive lineman, a top playmaker and our best defender to season ending injuries. This team is cursed.
I saw improvement today. Love had a better pocket to operate in. I suspect the run blocking wasn't great recause our backs aren't so hot.At this point, I need to see improvement from the OL rather than talk about it. Right now we do have Smack. While it sucks about Edgerrin, imo Micah Parsons would be our best Defender.
Reed is a really good Slot WR, however that said? I’d take Jacobs, Watson and Kraft over Reed. Reed is our 4th best O weapon imo.
It just seems like guys get hurt more and stay out longer than in the past. Maybe I’m just imagining that but ever since Bakhatiari and the J’aire went down we’ve kinda had an Injury curse.Looks like you don't want to sign a big contract with the Packers.
2025
Aaron Banks - 4 yr $77m - injuries and has never played consistently
Micah Parsons - 4 yr $186m - played about 2/3 season and hasn't played since
Zach Bako-Bewele - 4 yr $88m - Lost late last season then went out for season 2nd game
2026
Jayden Reed - 3 year $50m - possible career ender injury week 2
Doesn't include players that aren't playing up to their contracts such as Jacobs and Nixon and so far this year Kraft.
At least Smack has been worth every penny. He beat the Jets and he beat the Bucs.Looks like you don't want to sign a big contract with the Packers.

I think the Packers started one of the Gs Gluten picked up. To your point, hopefully Zeitler and Becton can also contribute once the rust is off.I 100% agree. Now obviously the question begs, will 6 days be enough time?

Smack is the lone, consistent bright spot on the team. Nice pick on Gluten's part.At least Smack has been worth every penny. He beat the Jets and he beat the Bucs.

Mrs San said bad teams seem to have good kickers and punters. ATM we have both.Smack is the lone, consistent bright spot on the team. Nice pick on Gluten's part.
I do often wonder if the big contract doesn’t factor. I think all contracts should be incentive laden and have some Cap $ relief for anyone missing more than 6-7 games in a season. I’m not saying 50% necessarily, but more in that 33% cap kickback if they miss 10+ games. 25% Cap kickback if 6 Games are missed etc. IF the Cap is used to find a replacement player at their respective position.I'm normally loathe to blame coaches for injuries but at some point the Packers need to get a new strength and conditioning coach don't they?
Especially non contact injuries and those that happen by just practicing. When a muscle or ligament tears just coming out of a stance or as you start to run it indicates an issue that was there before you got up in the morning. Modern athletes are in much better physical conditioning than those of the Lombardi era. They are stronger and faster but the number of devastating non contact injuries today are staggering.I'm normally loathe to blame coaches for injuries but at some point the Packers need to get a new strength and conditioning coach don't they?
