I read an article that claims that every man on the 53 practiced this week except Warren Brinson.

Both Banks and Zach BB practiced Friday and Zach has claimed to be ready to play now for a couple of weeks.

I know Bullard has missed some time, but I wonder if he’s ready yet?
Poppa makes some very good points about the injury situation. It's a good sign that all but Brinson practiced. And of course the elephant in the room, Parsons is on IR until probably mid-October.

The early schedule is on the easy side this year. That's good. The team will have to get and stay healthy because the rest of the schedule is brutal.

Yea he is a receiving TE , but it’s been pointed out he is surprisingly good at pass blocking. Run blocking not so much, apparently.
Good to know, thanks GBS. Gluten did a nice job filling the holes at TE with Musgrave out. In addition to Smith, he got Redman who is primarily a blocker. These moves will reduce some, not all, the pressure on Kraft.

Is Redman a better receiving TE, or vice versa. Gluten did a good job shoring up TE before the queens.
There was talk of GB quitting the trickery and just putting a 6th olineman up there if we need extra blocking from a TE. The other 4 targets being plenty with a little extra time.

Redman is sort of that type of blocker. 266 and a road grader of a run blocker compared to our other TEs.

looks like Savion Williams and Josh Jacobs will be coming back in the next 4 weeks. Who is going to be the sacrificial roster spot(s)?

GB going to dominate the line these first 4 weeks and people are going to be in a speculative frenzy when Parsons actually comes back.

It is what it is. And MLF will have a chance to show his coaching ability.

4 weeks. Who is going to be the sacrificial roster spot(s)?

Hope they are looking at cutting someone because then that means that team has been healthy and spots aren't opening up because of injury. Unfortunately, the reality is that injuries probably will open up spots.

Yes. Plus if there are zero injuries in 4 weeks, this would be a great problem to have.

This is how these players get their chance. Remember a guy who were # 4.

Before yesterday I would have said Melton. After yesterday, never mind about Melton. Really i don't know. If Banks is banged up that bad, put him on 4-week IR.

I expected the OL to struggle, but not to the extent I saw against the queens. I'm glad ZBB played, but Morgan looked underwhelming, the G positions are anyone's guess, and Rhyan held up at C.

It seemed to me. GB came out with that 5x D front and the Viked QB was out before the first quarter was over. And then they seemed to be having 3 down linemen too many times after that. Like they let up.

Meanwhile their defense switched gears to the 5 man rush and found the weaknesses. Love took a beating and the refs didn’t throw one flag to protect him.

The refs hand walked the vikes down the field and overturned the interception in the end zone. That was so sketchy. Huge swing in the momentum of the game. The end of the game was one dimensional, and the vikes were teeing off. Which worked and made the whole situation look as bad as it did when we were bringing the heat in the first quarter.

I know the Vikings dialed down their playbook after Murray went out. They knew they had to work harder to protect Wentz. And we still got pressure on him.

The flags have been all over the media this week. Many games saw both teams piling up the yellow. But this game only saw one team get them like 12-3. Are the Vikings that much better or did the refs knuckle under to a home crowd.? Some of those flags were sketchy not because they were close calls but because some of them would not have been called by other crews. There are other crews who would have just let them play. Is that right? Well, it is certainly not consistent. You had 16 crews officiating 16 games Sunday. That is a lot of people. Tell me that all 16 are elite at what they do. I just think we got one of the lesser.

I agree. I think there were maybe 7-8 that were legitimate flags. Several like the Love false start were not called in 15 of 16 contests imo. The roughing the QB cost Green Bay 7 points and 2.5 minutes .+ momentum. McClellan couldn’t have landed softer. It was a textbook template of the “how to protect QB’s” training template. Laughable and really appeared like it was used intentionally because everyone knows that’s not roughing.

Should’ve been a couple more in the Vikings. Including a Viking trying to rip Loves helmet off on a Sack. Looked like that time Myles Garrett ripped off Mason Rudolph’s helmet. Except he didn’t use it to try to bash his head in though. Easy 15 yard Roughing. Several were just cheap shots pushing our QB down long after the ball was out. I guess the Refs forgot they are on camera. Another play the Vikings both used a forearm AND helmet to Helmet on Love. Thats caught 75%+ of the time.

The Bullard collision was very incidental. It was more Bullard shoulder and Back that Kyler went head first. Kyler was a Runner not in a slide. Kyler was trying to get an extra couple yards and until contact is made it’s live play with forward momentum. If that was RB that flag would’ve never been thrown. Yet Kyler WAS a Runner that point of contact. He loses protection in the field of play if he goes head first to advance the yardage. Unless it’s egregious spearing or a late hit which it was neither.

I agree with those assessments. This crew was not very. 12-3 in penalties rarely happens with evenly matched teams. Seems they were trying to make up for Murray getting hurt.

The Packers had three 4th-down conversions taken away by penalties on one drive. As I recall, they were all questionable.

To your point, Love was sacked 4 times and pressured 15 more. No flags, yet McLellan gets a non-call for roughing.

And we got to see how costly missing a PAT can be. Even so, Smack was in non way responsible for this loss. If anything, he is one reason to look forward to games.

The way the game was unfolding after the Murray injury should have made that PAT insignificant and we should have taken over the game. Maybe later we score another TD and we go for two. Although 1 point did not figure in the final outcome a 9 point lead is still better than 8.

Reed and Zach BB updates?
Zach is going to miss significant time. Matt inferred in his Presser it’s possibly season ending.

Reed suffered a Neck injury and will likely go on IR. Hard to tell except with time, but I’d expect him to miss a significant amount of time. The good news is he had feeling in his extremities, so that’s a good Sign for long term.

Those are 2 really good Starters and this was a really bad scenario to lose both. My hope is at least Reed might come back later this season. I’d like to see what Skyye Moore can do in the Slot. He’s a really dynamic WR with the ball in his hands.

As I watched the replays of Reed's injury ... I had recurring memories of Nick Collins' injury. At the time I thought it would come back as being a neck sprain. It just didn't LOOK that severe. I'm hoping and praying for the young man and it's not about when he can come back and play....

Two other teams (both with pretty good passing games) have seen what Moore can do at receiver...which is why the Packers signed him as a return man

Both likely finished for 2026. Reed got back very, very late last season. By the time he could return this season it may be inconsequential. Give the reps to other players at that point.

I realize Reed is a slot rec. But we had at least 3 very good tall receivers fighting for a spot. I hope we use the one we kept instead of Melton.

With Reed likely done for the season, my guess is that we will be using Moore and Melton until Savion Williams comes off of IR.

Aaron Banks will not be active for tonight's game. Who will the Packers start at LG? Unfortunately we do not have any good options on the roster for this season. Maybe Burton will find his game by later in the season, but he doesn't offer much right now except as a body. Hopefully he can be slightly better than Jennings. Speaking of which, I do not believe that I have heard anything about the hand injury that caused Jenning's to leave the Jets game. We better have a 4th option at LT in case Burton gets hurt.

At least there are 10 days off until the next game. I hope we survive tonight.
