With Rodgers down, the Packers may have the chance (barring a huge coming out for Hundley) to pick higher in the draft than they have since 2009 when they to took Raji at #9.

Even if Hundley shows well, that may mean more wins and a lower draft position, but also the ability to trade him for a nice haul which could allow them to move up.

So the bottom line is that the Packers could well be in position to land a higher quality of prospect than they have had access to in some time.

I haven't watched anyone yet, but the high end names seem to include:
  • Harold Landry, Edge, BC
  • Derwin James, DB, FSU
  • Saquon Barkley, RB, PSU
  • Tarvarus McFadden, CB, FSU
  • Minkah Fitzpatrick, DB, Alabama
  • Connor Williams, OT, Texas
  • Mike McGlinchey, OT, ND
  • Bradley Chubb, Edge, NCSU
  • Derrius Guice, RB, LSU
  • Arden Key, Edge, LSU
It's really early. Names will rise and fall and people get better reads on them. But the point is that there is a higher class of prospect that Packers fans can begin looking into.
