FINAL 53 MAN PREDICTIONS - Dantes thanks for starting the thread cause I too am hopeless lol. Mix of what I would do and what I think Gutey would do.
QB: ARod starting. Kizer will backup Rodgers. I think Kizers upside more. Plus, if Rodgers goes down its the "end of the season" but I trust Kizer to lead (not a popular opinion). I think Boyle is replaceable. Kizer brings that big QB presence, while Wilkins runs the opponent RPOs and Air Raid scout offense. Boyle gets cut. Sorry not sorry.
- A. Rodgers
- D. Kizer
- T: 2
- RT: 2
RB: Jones, both Williams and Vitale. Jones cant handle 20+ carries will split time with the J. Williams and Vitale. Vitale brings special teams experience. If anything, Jones and Williams RBs gets hurt and Vitale carries the rock. Vitale has shown he can block and catch, thus making him a viable option at RB. If Vitale doesn't play in final preseason, hes a lock to make the 53 man roster. Bohanon is the veteran FB sprinkling in every now and then with blocking.
- A. Jones
- J. Williams
- D. Vitale
- T. Bohanon
- T: 4
- RT: 6
TE: Graham has to show up this season. Lewis should be on the field more. Rotate in the two younger guys (who will eventually replace the two veterans).* no change
- J. Graham
- M. Lewis
- J. Sternberger
- R. Tonyan
- T: 4
- RT: 10
WR: Adams is the main threat. Allison is serviceable with great hands (though hes dropped a few this pre-season, uncharacteristic of him). EQ might be on 53 man roster then IR'ed for Lazard. Im actually very surprised by Davis. He has shown he can contribute on offense and special teams. Shep has shown he has the hands and can contribute to the team.
- D. Adams
- G. Allison
- M. Valdes-Scantling
- J. Kumerow
- E. St. Brown (IR) --> A. Lazard
- T. Davis
- D. Shepard
- T: 7
- RT: 17
OL: My starting unit didn't waiver much: Bakhtiari - Taylor - Linsley - Turner - Bulaga. Taylor has experience and I don't see why packers should cut him. Taylor should be coming into the season with a vengeance. Injuries are inevitable. Slowly ease in Jenkins into the positions needed. If Bulaga gets injured, Move Turner to RT and slide Jenkins at RG. Patrick can fill in.
- LT- D. Bakhtiari
- LG- L.Taylor
- C - C. Linsley
- RG- B. Turner
- RT- B. Bulaga
- T: 9
- RT: 26
DL: Gary and Z.Smith rotate in on passing downs. Battle comes down to Lancaster and Looney.
- K. Clark
- D. Lowry
- M. Adams
- K. Keke
- T. Lancaster
- T: 5
- RT: 31
EDGE: Smith bros take the job. Gary will surprise folks with his athleticism bending the edge but has growing pains in pass coverage and contain. Fackrell and Gilbert will rotate in.
- Z. Smith
- P. Smith
- R. Gary
- K. Fackrell
- R. Gilbert
- T: 5
- RT: 36
LB: Martinez is a stud and will command the defense. If Bolton heals in time before Bears game, he starts next to Martinez. Burks will be on 53 man then IR (designate return)
- B. Martinez
- C. Bolton
- T. Summers
- O. Burks IR --> J. Crawford
- T: 4
- RT: 40
CB: Tramon is the leader of the group mentoring and being
the voice of reason for DBs (also can play safety). Talented DBs but needs to stay healthy. Hollman (great story) gets beaten by T.Brown last on chart. * No change
- J. Alexander
- T. Williams
- K. King
- J. Jackson
- T. Brown
- K. Hollman
- T: 6
- RT: 46
S: Amos and Savage starts. Campbell & Greene serves special teams, backup and Dime linebacker.
- A. Amos
- D. Savage
- W. Redmond
- R. Greene
- T: 4
- RT: 50
ST: No Change
- M. Crosby
- J. Scott
- H. Bradley
- T: 3
- RT: 53
V2. overall:
- We tend to overrate our own players. I like Kizer more. Has in-game experience and better upside. IMO Boyle is replaceable (See Wilkins).
- I will be the first to say I'm not a fan of Dexter Williams, thus far - so he's a candidate on PS. I see Vitale as a "superback" playing a mix of slot receiver, fullback and running back. I kept Bohanon on cause of similarity with the offense and main blocker.
- Trevor Davis has really surprised me with his play on offense. He looked and played like a 4th year veteran. Darrius Shepard is the other guy who surprised me. Has been consistent and made incredible catches. J'Mon... J'Mon.. C'mon. He Gone.
- Not surprised Bolton played over Summers. Will Bolton be able to make it through the season though or be put on IR before the season? IDK. Bolton looks to be fine walking without the crutches *reported by journalist - Not sure what to do once Burks comes back.
- Surprised by the Mike Daniels cut... Josh Jones release shouldve been done way earlier, we all saw it coming * see my previous version
- I can see us picking up RB, S, and ILB after cutdowns.
- I really like our depths at WR and O-Line. Given this WR core is not the Super Bowl XLV core but I have not been this excited at WR in a while. I am worried about the ILB position, if Martinez is injured, we might be in trouble.
