He looks to be a pretty good player overall. He would really solidify one of the end positions. Not glamorous, but could be a big time impact player. Thoughts?

Either him, or Raji, or Jackson (although I think it's a reach), or one of the 2 tackles, or even Brown, and I'm happy. Hell, If TT can build our D, don't care what round, I'm happy.

He's who I would take, so that sounds good to me. Unless Curry falls to us (never ever going to happen), and even then i'd still have to consider Orakpo.

I prefer Raji (that could manage perfectly the NT) and Jackson (the best DE for a 3-4 scheme...DE, not DE/OLB). But if they are already gone, Orakpo would be my choice for our first pick. It would be something like

    1- B.J. Raji
    2- Tyson Jackson
    3- Orakpo
    4- Jenkins
    5- Trade down
    6- Andre Smith
    7- Oher

I would have been okay with Orakpo as well, but I am pretty satisfied with the Raji pick.

Would our team be better with Orakpo & Matthews, than with Raji & Matthews?
You could insert someone else instead of Nick Perry then... perhaps DE Kendall Reyes whom Ted wanted last year early Rd 2, as San Diego snatched him up.
Then a few other domino's would have been at play: If Reyes, then no Worthy.
And then if no Raji, probably Cullen Jenkins would have remained a Packer.
    Perhaps.

    Then also no this:

I agree.... I still think Perry is VERY similar to Orakpo in ability and talent, skills.
I'd like to see side-by-sides of their dimensions and combine times, measurements, etc.

Orakpo got hurt last year, season-ender. So did our Perry.
But Orakpo came into the league on fire, like Clay did...
