Ben Roethlisberger underwent an emergency appendectomy on Sunday and will miss Thursday's season opener against the Dolphins.

(I heard next week he's supposed to have an "Emergency historectomy!")

In the papers around here it says he should miss only one game. I hope so.

LOL Cheesey. I'm disappointed but not concerned. Apparently it was the least invasive surgery and it is very likely he'll only miss the 1st game since they don't play for 11 days afterwards.

Now I AM concerned about our apparent curse. We flew to Green Bay for the Steeler/Packer game last year and Ben had knee surgery and didn't play. This week we're in Vegas and planning to watch Thursday's game in the casino. Seems we shouldn't plan a vacation where a Steeler game is involved!!

Who cares? Big Ben's overrated. They don't win because of him, they win in spite of him. Great college player, decent NFL player. Steelers' fans should be more worried about the loss of Randel El. Who's gonna throw the TD's now that he's gone? "Roethel-something. Nice pick Cowhah!" Heh.

    Good one Hog!!!

Hey Edder.......maybe you should call the Steelers everytime you plan a vacation. Maybe it's YOU causing Ben's trouble, not Ben causing your vacation troubles!!!

Now......if you guys win MILLIONS of dollars when your in Vegas, you gonna remember the "little people", (like me!)
(Maybe i can get a job as your personal chef! Lets see.......tonight we are having brats and beer, some deep fried CHEESE sticks, and CHEESE cake for dessert!.......hows that sound, boss?......i mean Edder?)LOLOLOL!!!

Ouch! Such caring empathy. NO team is a single player and I don't think you'll see anyone arguing Ben is a fantastic QB. But the Steelers sure are a fantastic (Um Super Bowl anyone?) team with him.

It's true.......Big Ben has one more super bowl wins then Dan Marino does!
Ben might not be the greatest QB of all times, but he got the job done, and thats what matters!

Yes yes... over rated. Imagine playing for 2 seasons and having only one ring to show for it.
Imagine what a bust he will be if he plays for 16 seasons and only gets that one ring.

Yes PHIL, that would be sad. Almost as sad as a team TRYING to get back to the super bowl the last 20 years and NEVER doing it!
Can we say......."Cade McNown?"
