My uncle just asked me if I want to go to opening day with him and a couple other guys, vs the White Sox...... hmmmm, definitely an intriguing chance to go to my first opening day game. The biggest dilemma, being a Tigers fan, would be...

My biggest obstacle will be swinging two days off work to do it. One thing I like about going to games in Milwaukee, there aren't any rain games, so that part of the equation isn't an issue.

It can be a very special experience. I went to one in 1980, another in 1971, and the one I remember the most was 1966. It went 14 innings and I froze my *** off for a 75 cent bleacher ticket.

I probably said this before but WTH ... here we go again. The photo you use with your sign-in. I used that puppy for a decade as my work background. If you look closely, you can see me staring up at the jets. I'm the guy in the green. SW end zone corner row fifteen right where the blue ends. I know this because my card was blue and my son's was something else, don't remember what color.

Have to admit, that game was the WORST game experience of my life. I mean EVERYONE except me and the boy, were drinking all freekin' day, including a lot of Saint's fans.

Still... I love that photo.

Back on topic. The kid and 7 of his buddies hit the home opener - 4th year in a row for him. Me? I've been to ONE game at Miller Park. Can't bring myself to say AmFam ... because when all is said and done, I think my inflated premiums are paying for the friggen' place. You're welcome... ;)

I didn't end up going. It would have been cool to go, plus Jordan Love throwing the 1st pitch. That young pitcher you have, Miz, sure had a heck of a day, double digit K's!! I've only been to 1 game at Miller Park/AmFam... County Stadium is another story though. Went there at least a dozen times in my youth.

My Tigers rookie phenom, 21 yr old Kevin McGonigle had quite the debut, too, going 4-5, 2 doubles, 2 RBI. Then followed it up with another 1-3 last night, 2 RBI single to break a 2-2 tie in the 8th. He should have had his 1st MLB HR, in his first AB of the night, but the CF took it away with a heck of a play at the 396 sign.

I'm just happy baseball is back in full swing.

Wait, don't you mean Milwaukee County Stadium? ;)

I used to be a huge Brewer fan and tried to hit as many homes games a season as I could. I hated what the Brewers organization did to get a new stadium, so I vowed to never attend another game. Up until 2 years ago, I hadn't stepped foot in Miller...AmFam park, ever. All is good though, I didn't attend a Brewer game, it was a White Coat ceremony for MCW. :D

IIRC, home plate of county stadium was the exact same position as home plate in the Little league Field in the parking lot. Both my oldest two boys got to play a game on that field about 20 years ago. Came with tickets to the game that night.
