I am sure that such people do exist... that think we must draft defense no matter what because Rodgers doesn't not help. However, those people are few and far between. They certainly aren't the people you're talking to now. And to just assign that motivation to everyone who disagrees with you about Sutton makes you a troll, no different from our friend @Mike McCarthy here. For the record, I have argued with such people on this board-- posters that said we should let Adams walk because Rodgers can get by with anyone. That's stupid.

I'm not sure how many more times I'm going to try to explain this, but once again... I am not opposed to drafting offensive help with our first pick. I would take Barkley at #14. I would really take Nelson at #14. I. Just. Don't. Think. Other. Offensive. Players. Are. As. Good. As. The. Defensive. Prospects. At. The. Top. Of. This. Class.

And this is not an unusual opinion in this class! Excluding the QB's and Nelson/Barkley:

Jeremiah's top offensive player is Guice at #17. Sutton outside of his top 50.

Zierlein has Ridley at #7 and after that the next offensive guy is Ronald Jones at #14. Sutton at #56.

Brugler has Ridley at #10 and after that the next offensive guy is Ronald Jones at #17. Sutton at #43.

The top of PFF's board is heavily defensive. Sutton at #31.

This does NOT mean that they're necessarily right about Sutton or the class in general (I actually think they're generally too low on him!). I understand that there are guys like the new CBS crew that love Sutton a lot and rate him high (5th?). But I just tend to agree with these guys and am familiar with them (I have no idea who the CBS guys are). What this DOES mean is that it's a pretty normal assessment of this class that, after Barkley, Nelson, and the QB's, it favors defense at the top. So naturally most people are going to like the defensive prospects. It's silly for you to assign ulterior motives or act aghast when people express a pretty common opinion about this class.

If you want to do that, that's fine. I'll just put you back on ignore and you can pitch all the fits you want. But if you'd like to actually have conversations, you should understand this.
This is ludicrous, you do realize that we as free people can, and will disagree on topics. Ignore away if you only care to converse with like minded individuals.

It actually does fit it perfectly and That probably holds true. The fact its deeper on the defensive side is all the more reason to strike hard and early on a top WR prospect such as Sutton.

We're talking about the talent at the top of the draft, not the depth. Keep up.

Here is the deal. I played that route and took the higher ground weeks leading up to the combine when these jokers tried to laugh me out of here that Sutton was a "marginal athlete" and was gonna tank while Ridley was gonna put on some smoke show.

Well guess what? They were wrong and now they have had to seperate themselves from Ridley and have nowhere to go so they talk defensive talent. Im gonna take the higher ground again here and go along with that.

If you're talking about me, this is a straight up lie. I said over and over before the combine that his biggest weakness is that he struggles to separate from man coverage and I didn't see him as a vertical threat. That was and is true. When he worked out well, I gave him credit. I didn't comment on his athletic metrics before the combine. I just commented on what I perceive to be his weaknesses on the field.

I also said that Ridley is fast (true), quick (true), and a good route runner (true).

It's hilarious that you're simultaneously lying while talking about "taking the high road."

You basically said he wouldnt beat a 7.0 3 cone which is pretty much calling him a bad athlete as a receiver. Slice it anyway you want. If people want to go back and read your posts and others about "The Wonderfull World of Ridley" which isnt all that wonderfull they can.

Im moving forward and have made my opnion clear.

I don’t recall making any such statement and I’ve looked. Didn’t find it. Feel free to show me.

This personal back and forth crap is getting old.

Keep it to football or create a thread where you can rag on each other to your hearts content.

Let’s get back on topic.

Amish— how do you feel about Courtland Sutton, the SMU wide receiver?

No thats there M.O. They like to tag team and did the same thing too HRE recently. If you disagree with them or have a different view point they will gang up on you with a vengeance.

We actually text each other to come up with replies to you.

It takes all of our collective brainpower to battle your wits.

Fwiw, Dantes and I frequently disagree on prospects. We just don't think it's a big deal if we don't agree. I don't need his confirmation, he doesn't need mine. You on the other hand...you can't handle it if people think differently.

Good, I like him Not worth #14. He should go late 1st to mid 2nd. I would take him in the 2nd. I think at least 2 WRs go before him, Ridley and Moore. He will take a bit to transition to the NFL but he will have a good career.

Courtland Sutton is a beast!

Calvin Ridley flammed out at the combine and has fallen off draft boards everywhere.

Brandon2348 on Packer Forum called it ahead of schedule and now is being accused of being a "known liar" by the "Dynamic Duo" LOL

This is great stuff! Maybe I'll invite you guys to my live channel sometime.

We shall see. He is the most natural route runner of this class, he was never a numbers combine guy. I think he will be one of the best rookies of this class depending on his QB. Others may catch up in year 2 or 3, but he will get open game one as a rookie and catch a lot of passes.

IF this was a better WR class, I could possibly see selecting one with our #14 pick, but I don't think any of them are a sure thing or IMO worth the risk of forgoing the selection of yet another defensive player to try and eventually fix that side of the ball for the Packers. All that said, I do think the Packers have a relatively urgent need to find a WR that will contribute in 2019 and beyond, but I hope that player can be found in either round 2 or 3.

Might I introduce you to Anthony Miller?

He's very good. I'll post videos later.

Harold Landry if Derwin James isn't there. Guy was TREMENDOUS pass rusher in 2016 (like, Myles Garrett good) and had an ankle injury all year in 2017. Packers need edge rushers and corners and a great edge rusher can help the secondary more than the secondary helps the pass rush (it's close though).

He is too short ;) LOL

I actually looked at Miller a few weeks ago and liked him. He has great body control and hands, can line up outside or in the slot and he definitely played well against some good teams. He should be there when the Packers pick in Round 2 and may even be available as late as the early 3rd round if we can trade up.

The WR from Maryland (drawing a blank on his name) ; sounds like a stud after the catch.
D.J. Moore.
