After round 1, I'm pretty sure Cisse gets the call at #52. It's tempting between Miller and Cisse (assuming they are still on the board at 52). I think Gluten goes with Cisse at CB because he already added Hargarve to the DL in FA. Miller does have the Georgia pedigree that the Packers covet, so who knows. I still think it's Cisse.

That's not to say he doesn't need to take an iDL, he does. This draft has depth at the Packers’ biggest area of needs, so Gluten should be able to draft at a position where a trade or FA don't work out.
My thought process for my 3 2nd rd guys was Miller on a trade up, Cisse if we sit tight, and Dennis-Sutton if we trade back a few picks. I almost put Haulcy, the Safety out of LSU in my mock due to hearing Gannon likes to use 3 Safeties. I think Green Bay fans will love this guy after seeing him play, he is fun.

Haven't we already been doing that with McKinney, Williams and Bullard?

That said, I do like Haulcy's style of play. He is a hard hitter, with a nose for the ball, something I think the Packer defense lacks. But with Williams and Bullard on rookie deals for 2 more seasons and McKinney being under a reasonable contract for the same period of time, Haulcy would be a luxury pick and one I just don't think Gute makes.

I think it's more of a rotation than 3 in on the same play.

The 3 safeties isn't including one in the slot, all on the field in the back end... from what I understood

I guess I am confused as to where you would play Haulcy, if McKinney, Williams and Bullard are all on the field too?

Snap Counts for the 3 Packer Safeties as a % of all defensive plays:

McKinney: 94%
Williams: 81%
Bullard: 65%

I think they used those 3 on the field together quite often. Adding Haulcy would be adding a 4th starting safety?

I got stuck at work and forgot about locking this. Even locked threads allow posts to be edited IIRC so the time edited stamp or posting time/date need to be before Thursday night 7ish.

Now locked for the weekend.

Edited to get the edit time stamp. Do the plebs :whistling: get to see the "last edited" stamp or not? Let me know here Monday.

Contest thread has been unlocked. Big donut for me, breaking my scoring streak at about 4 or 5.

Congrats to ANY posters who got 1 (or more) correct. 2nd year in a row I completely whiffed, although I'm VERY happy for Gute's selections.

I had 3 correct out of 6 picks, 11 points I believe. I actually had Jager Burton in the 5th, and changed him out Thursday morning for an OL out of Oklahoma....

Congrats to DoURant and Todd Princl who tied with 8 pts.

Tyni and Poker had 3 pts

The rest of us? Nothing!

Please let me know if I missed anything.
Amish, I had 11 pts, I had Cisse in the 2nd 5 pts, and 3 pts each for Dennis-Sutton in the 2nd and McClellan in the 4th.

Congrats @DoURant !!

Thanks @AmishMafia for another splendid draft contest.

It unfolded well for the Packers I think. I hope it gives them....a leg up for 2026!

Thank you Amish for hosting the contest again this year. An event I look forward to every year. Now my name will be forever etched in stone, alongside all the past 1st place winners. Do I get an honorary buggy ride around Lambeau field for my prize?

There were a number of us (Ty, Poker, you, me) who had Dennis-Sutton as the first pick in rd 2, or close.

We did get him, at #102. Any ideas on why he dropped so far? I'm glad we got him - another Penn St alum along w/ Parsons on the D.

That is an absolutely phenomenal hit rate.
The draft contest reminds me of Keno. Get 3 numbers right out of 20 numbers selected from a total of 80 and win a few bucks. Just for fun.). Sounds easy. It's not. (And I acknowledge that in the draft the universe of possible selections is 276 and 80 in Keno. Anyway, it's a flawed analogy but kinda close on methodology.)

And to be clear, winning or losing at Keno is based on probability, and so luck for any given contest. DoURant getting 3 picks right in this draft is based on knowledge, skill, and yeah, a little luck.

Congrats brother! That would have been pretty impressive if you would have had Burton too. Not having a first round pick kind of took out the luster for me this year. I always get geeked up this time of the year. I didn't really get into it until maybe two weeks prior to the first pick. It might be the same next year too. But then again we might have 12 picks to figure out next year with what is supposed to be a much better draft if NIL doesn't spoil it.

The fact that the Packers didn't have a 1st round pick, picked in only 5 rounds and left the draft with only 6 players totally impacted all of our final Amish Draft Numbers.

The 6 picks tied for the lowest in their history with the 2001, 2002 and 2004 drafts. At least in those 3 other drafts, the Packers had a 1st round pick.

As of now, the 2027 draft for the Packers will be without a 1st rounder, but they may possibly have as many as 11 picks.

The 105th Annual Amish Mock Draft is going to be lit in 2027!

Gluten played the hand he was dealt very well in this draft. And you're right - next year he'll have 12, maybe 13 picks. Every year the draft is strong at certain positions, weak at others. Drafts should then be viewed/assessed collectively.

I feel good about what Gluten did in FA, the draft, and with trades. No monumental moves - just making an already good team incrementally better. Well done.
