My prediction for the Packers first draft pick....no matter what number it ends up being or what player....

- 50% of the board will say that Gute could have waited 2 rounds to get that guy

- 25% will say they have never heard of the player

- 20% will say it was a good pick, but.......

- 5% will say Gute nailed the pick
Pokerbrat has officially won whatever the hell the name of this contest is

Agree, at least from what I have read.

It won't surprise me or disappoint me if Gute trades off of the #52 with someone like Seattle and gets their #64 and #96 in exchange. Seems like there are a lot of players in that pick 45-150 range that aren't separated by a whole lot. I'd rather see Gute get as many picks in that range as he can get than just to stick with the 3 he currently has.
When people propose trades I like to check the trade chart to see just how realistic they are. In this case GB would win the trade by 10 points. The thing that really jumped out at me though is that Seattle only has 4 picks in this draft.

I saw that as well, after my post. ;) With 3 of the 4 being in Rounds 1,2 and 3. Due to that, I doubt the Seahawks would package any picks to move up. Just the opposite, they too might want to trade back and pick up a few more picks in rounds 4 and 5. I look for them to do that with their 1st round pick (#32).

At least Seattle does not really need many picks in their situation. They can focus on salary cap and preseason additions.

They lost Walker, Woolen, Mafe, and Bryant in Free agency, so they will have some work to do.

Hey @Schultz welcome back!

The calculators are good guides. Just keep in mind Brian recently Paid for a #27 overall when he Drafted Christian Watson at #34 overall. Meaning he not only traded a pair of 50’s. He gave away an additional -120 points off Draftek or calculator Soup (3rd RD section).
So while it’s a nice guide it shows the demand for the player likely outweighs the trade up Other trades are spot on but normally an aggressive team moving up (like us) will overpay. There are cases where a four like Seattle’s Schneider might get more even just to help their volume of picks etc.

Now good thing is it works both ways. So a trade back can net more than the grid if someone is eager to move up.

I'm going to quit doing Mocks, since my last one was my favorite outcome.

True. But considerably less than many teams. Now in their division even 12 wins can make you a wold card team. So one or two players can be critical.

That makes you a lock to win this contest over those of us that have over-studied and over-analyzed the players in this years draft. ;)

I will admit this, with the Packers not having a first round pick, I know very little, if anything, about most of the top 30 players. So if 1 falls into the Packers laps on day 2, my initial response will be "Who the F is this guy Gute!!!??"

I’ve always admired quality plagiarism. I would try but I could never quite get the hang of it and I’d get busted for the lack of authenticity of my replication. Now a whole new level of respect for using outright honesty and using it and claiming it’s intentionality. If our answers overlap like a stencil, I’d like to split the prize trip with you because I copied from multiple other peoples! It’ll relieve some guilt!

* plus if I fail miserably? which I often do.. I know I can truly blame everyone else with some real substance. I’d also get company in my misery. It’s a real Win Win for me

Does anyone have a link to that first Amish Mock Draft thread so I can see how everyone did 55 years ago?
Word on the street is it was recorded using a 1942 Corona Typewriter and due to age it was just a rough Draft.

*ps you can see the original typewriter used to record Amish 1st Draft on a movie called “The Jagged Edge” (1985)
