Javon: Jim Bates would very much like to be a head coach, and he has not kept it a secret. He interviewed for one or two head coaching jobs last year. He is considered by many to be too old (59) to begin as a head coach.

I have no idea why Herman Edwards keeps getting mentioned, especially after watching him choke in the playoffs last year.

The OC you're referring to is Scott Linehan. He is somebody who is getting more and more talk as a possible HC candidate sometime.

What I would like to see is Sherman stay one more year with Bates as DC & Mariucci as OC. Probably won't happen though as Mooch is getting over $5 million next year not to coach.

Favre said he'd retire if they replace Sherman, so Sherman will stay, unfortunately.
