Who would everyone like to see at 44? I got...
AJ Brown
Paris Campbell
DK Metcalf
Irv Smith
Byron Murphy
Jawaan Taylor
Chase Winovich
Greg Little
Zach Allen
Dalton Risner
Greedy Williams
...I know half this forum will hate me for even considering a defensive player. Even though they are the same people that complain how bad our defense is.

I like Winovich and Allen, but I don't think they're in play.

I would guess CB: Bunting, Rock Ya Sin, Murphy, Williams

WR: AJ Brown, Deebo, Campbell, Metcalf, Butler

OL: Risner, Little, Scharping

Don't think we see a TE at 44. I could see Kahale Warring in the 3rd. Or Dawson Knox.

  • AJ Brown - I think he is the best WR in the draft
  • Dalton Risner - a lot of versatility and a good player
  • Cody Ford - doubt he lasts to our pick
  • Irv Smith - Not sold on him, but would be good value at 44
  • Deebo Samuel
  • Zach Allen - lots of attitude (if we go defense at 44 I think we can safely say Pettine has some kind of mind control device
  • Greedy Williams - can you imagine the heads that would explode around here?\
  • Max Scharping - local boy makes it big
  • Parris Campbell - not a great WR, but will make things more exciting on sweeps and returns
  • Terry McClaurin - Think he has some real pop to his game

  • Jawaan Taylor - I really thought he would go first OT. Maybe some issues we don't know about? Attitude, Injury?

Beat me to it.

Excellent post - and we have nearly identical lists. I did miss Little, he should have been on my list.

Mod please move my thread here.

I'm looking hardest at OL, TE, and WR. These are the names I like:
  • D. Risner, KSU
  • M. Scharping, NIU
  • I. Smith, UA
  • K. Warring, SDSU
  • A. Brown, MISS
  • D. Samuel, SC
  • M. Hardman, UGA
Should be fun.

2nd Round

Zach Allen - Wilkinson is still unsigned, if Gary isn't playing DE I'm not sure what the plan is otherwise, because I don't see Lowry as a permanent starter.

Dalton Risner - He solves the OL equation as long as he's on the team.

Elgton Jenkins - I get it Cole Madison is back but I still want an answer to LG.

AJ Brown - To shut you guys up.

D.K. Metcalf - See above.

Deebo Samuel - See above.

Hakeem Butler - See above.

3rd Round

Anthony Nelson - Still need a DE if we don't come away with one in Round 2

Jace Sternberger - TE of the future.

Miles Sanders - We need a workhorse who can hold up to punishment.

Blake Cashman - Need someone who can play inside alongside Blake Martinez.

Sean Bunting - Kevin King Insurance.

Riley Ridley - Again to shut you guys up.

Jalen Hurd - Again to shut you guys up.

Josh Rosen - Because Gute is WILD.

I'm still of the mind that defense wins championships even though people can post all sorts of stats that "prove" otherwise. I'd rather see another solid defensive player than a reach for an offensive one.

As far as offense goes my biggest want is OL. I do think we need a slot WR but who knows, maybe LaFleur has a plan for one of the 2nd year guys or someone later on. A TE would be great but since we missed out on Hockenson I think a developmental one would be fine. As we know we will have Graham for at least one more year.

I think Offense both rounds today, so just focusing on that.

Rd 2
WR's

Parris Campbell, AJ Brown, Hakeem Butler, Deebo Samuel
TE's
Irv Smith, he can block and catch, best of both worlds if we go there
IOL
Erik McCoy, Elgton Jenkins (McCoy is one of my favorite guys, more C than G, but can play both)
OG/OT
Cody Ford, Dalton Risner

Rd 3
WR's

Terry McLaurin, JJ Arcega-Whiteside, Andy Isabella, Miles Boykin
TE's
Jace Sternberger, Foster Moreau, Kahale Warring, Josh Oliver
IOL
Connor McGovern, Michael Dieter
OT
Yodny Cajuste, Greg Little, Max Scharping

I fully expect Lowry to be a significant and productive part of the rotation on the defensive line.

I hope so, because with no picks until the 5th, without Allen or Nelson he's all we got. If he gets injured, we're stuck like chuck unless Gary comes down.

Clark, Daniels, Lowry, Adams, Lancaster.

Smith and Gary can slide inside on 3rd downs.

It's not elite, but it's solid.

Some really solid WR and OL options and Irv smith for 2.44. Going to be very interesting to see what happens with D.K. I think he gets picked pretty quickly in the 2nd, but lot of confusion and smoke around him.

Get me one of Cody Ford, Dalton Risner, Irv Smith, AJ Brown, Paris Campbell or Deebo Samuel and I'm a happy man. Im hoping that at least one of these guys will be there for us.

It's more than 3rd. down. This is a nickel/dime game now for 80% of the snaps. Clark and Z. Smith, the knows, can be more than "solid".

Totally.

With the solid remark, I was more referring to the group of Clark, Daniels, Lowry, Adams, and Lancaster. I'm probably a little too low on that too, tbh. It's a good group.

A.J. Brown or Max Scharping would be my choices at #44 if they make it that far.

Not that it necessarily carriers any weight but Matt Miller has just mocked Jenkins and Warring for the 2nd and 3rd Round respectively.

I'm not super big on Warring but I can live with it.

I would prefer a tackle to an interior player, but that combo would also be fine by me.

Granted I wasn't hype either, but it was armageddon last night after 12th Overall was announced.

But I really would like Zach Allen, this defense would be set for years.

I really thought Allen would surprise and go in the 1st. He brings an nice level of nasty. We need that.
