I certainly wouldn't watch a Super Bowl if the Packers weren't in it. I bet a lot of NFL fans would feel the same about their teams. There would probably be a lot of Super Bowl parties, where people chip in and watch it at somebody's house though. Maybe sports bars would get it.

Now if the Packers were in it, I would probably watch, unless it was a situation where it seemed like a certainty that they would get crushed. In that case I'd probably follow along on ESPN Gamecast, or view a watch along on YouTube.

Wait, Canada has sports? Who knew? "Tonight on Channel 7, "Bear Watching', followed immediately by 'The Beaver Family Chronicles', two beaver families compete for the same creek."
Don't knock what you don't understand. It's better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you're a fool than to open it and prove that you are.

I think mine and the surrounding generations are the last to actually have freedom. Looks like everyone will be manipulated from here on out. Unless a miracle happens. I hope that didn't come from too far out in left field.
Oh you still have Freedoms, you can choose to watch TV or not. Of course, to watch it, you may have to "freedom" up some of your cash. ;)

Anyone thinking that TV was always "Free", needs to look at the entire picture, no pun intended. Yes, in the old days, you had 3-4 channels and big rabbit ears on the top of your TV to tune them in. But free? Not at all. First, you invested in that TV and Rabbit ears, as well as the power to run them. More expensive than that, the cost of the products you bought as a result of advertising on TV. Life Cereal, Coca-Cola, etc. weren't just throwing money away advertising on TV for you to watch, they were selling you their products, and at a higher price to pay for that advertising.

Heck even PBS isn't "free". You pay for it in your tax dollars.

So yeah, Pay Per View seems to be a more direct connection to "user fees", but we have all been paying user fees to watch "Free TV".

Used to have tax dollars pay for PBS. It's history now. At least until 2028 when I figure it will be back. Too many valuable shows and entertainment there to just throw it out the window. The Fed only gave 15% of the support. The rest has been donations.

Unless of course you pay for cable, satellite, direct stream, PrimeTV. ;)
True. But football, I pay for internet and stream from overseas. But you do have a point. Does anyone even have a TV antenna these days and do Stations still broadcast over the air? WBAY? They still sending out signals? Something I haven't thought about in years. Apparently they still do transmit. WFRV, WLUK, WBAY, There must be another station I'm missing. I know they all changed affiliations over the years.

I was going to say that, but wanted to steer clear of making it known that I absolutely despise Trump and what he is doing to this country. :coffee:

It would shock you to see how many "free" channels are out there still. I live in a pretty remote area, but I hooked up a digital power antenna to my smart TV and I think I get like 33 "free channels." Each of the big networks have 3-4 digital channels and then there are a slew of odd channels that come in as well. I was actually just flipping through the digital channels the other night and was shocked to find the Brewer game on one the major channels sub channels.

I am nearing the point where I may just rely on those channels and cut off my YouTubeTV subscription. I would be fine listening to the radio when Packer games aren't on FOX, CBS, ABC or NBC. I rarely watch Brewer games on TV. First, because so few are televised for me, but I also enjoy going out fishing and having the game on the radio while I fish. Baseball was almost made for radio.

I take it you have the internet. Almost every sports game is available by streaming from somewhere. I hook up my laptop to one of my TVs and watch them that way.

I do have the internet, which costs me way too much money monthly ;) .

Yes, you can pretty much find anything online these days. However, the legality of doing so is nearing that which the music industry went through with Limewire, Napster, etc.
