And I mentioned Dallas' two pics because they will probably be higher than they would've been. Had they kept Micah.... so his trade does affect what all four picks will be...... that's all I was trying to say

realistically, for Dallas their absolute best-case scenario is that ONE of those four picks gets them a Parsons-level player lol

Imo. Much of this deal being for bad or for good was about its cost. By the time 4yrs is up, it’s a 2.5Mil per year overpay. I’d say $6m heavy today, maybe $3Mil heavy in 2026, but no more than $10Mil total heavy across 4 seasons. $Which is peanuts to get your choice of DPOY at Edge.

When he was drafted it would’ve cost the Packers a pair of #29/#30 overalls in the 1st Round at minimum to move up to get him at #12. Knowing what we know today?? Micah would be the #1 overall selection in the 2021 draft. He’s worth 3 later Day 1’s imo and I’m being conservative on that number. By charts possibly 4 Day 1’s if they are #29,#32 etc.

The NFC better pray that no other GB Defenders improve. If GB had just 1 more players pop? LVN? Wyatt? etc?
Wow

Guys like Micah make the players around them rise because you have to totally game plan to double Micah. 1
Technically he was. 2026 1st Rd, 2027 1st Rd, and Kenny Clark who was the 27th pick in 2016. :whistling:
Exactly my point. However he’s a guaranteed #1. In 2021 we would not decipher that he would play like the #1 best player in the draft. We have hindsight!

Hafley is like a kid in a candy store. That guy is going to be trying not to smile. This is a DC’s dream.

Love the move. This is a big boy swing at the plate by Gute. I am happy that he isn't afraid to make the big move. He is taking a lot of risk with the future of the Packers on this gamble.

I really hate to see Kenny Clark leave and feel sorry that he has to become a Cowboy. He deserves better than that.

I approve of the move and think it will have a big impact on the Packers success. The others around Parsons will play better with more blocking focus shifting to Parsons. Not sure where he plays. I would be curious to see a LB corps of Cooper, Parsons and Walker with LVN and Gary on the edge. That's a lot of pass rush.

I am worried about our iDL. Are Wooden, Brooks, Wyatt, Stackhouse, and Brinson going to shut down running games? I am hoping we can force some 3rd downs so we can see that pass rush.

I think this trade will overall be a great move. It certainly makes the SB a bit more plausible in my mind.

I love the trade, 2 1st Rd picks and Kenny is a lot less than the prior guesses of 2 1sts, a 2nd, a 5th, and maybe Rashan Gary. I think most people are more worried about the financial part of the deal, and how it will effect re-signing our guys up for FA.
This is a win-now league and this was a win-now trade. I'll take a few sad goodbyes down the road in exchange for a Super Bowl or two... or three.

Is Micah worth 4 1st round players......
Maybe......maybe not.
If y'all win a Super Bowl, then it'll be worth it if he gets injured and you guys don't, it will be seen as a waste.....
Only time will tell.
I know you miss 100% of the shots you don't take though.......
If I recall, wasn't Parsons on the field when the Packers went into Dallas for the 2023 playoff game and beat the Boys 48-32?

I am shocked that this went down. The Packers paying him that much was the least surprising aspect of this entire thing as I never thought they would give up 2 1st nor did I think Jones would trade with the Packers.

I'm still not a fan of trading picks to then have the right to throw money at a guy.

Hard to believe and a little harder to swallow.

Clark was gone after this year anyways. Besides it takes a year or so before our first rd picks see the field. This is basically a 5 year deal with it being 41 mil a year. Right on par with watt and Garrett this is a big boy move and they are banking on the pass rush to relief pressure of not having elite corners. We have studs on all phases of the D parsons cooper and McKinney. Good frickin night. They are right there with the lions eagles etc. it’s all going to fall on love…

Lost in all this, I’m kinda shocked that Dallas traded him to GB and that they somehow let it get this late before going down. IF you’re going to trade him, you need to come to that decision much earlier and you gotta get him outta your conference (much less to a historic rival!) at least. Running it this late IMO drastically reduces your leverage and consequent trade return. Like I said before, say what you will about this deal for the packers but the cowboys absolutely bungled this entire scenario and somehow managed to trade their best player in the least efficient way imaginable.

I’m curious to see how the contract structure breaks down too. We’ve seen a lot of guys who are able to claim “highest paid!!” For a time and end up having a relatively manageable contract.

In any case I think a month ago this was basically unfathomable - trading Parsons at all seemed inconceivable - but if someone projected the return would be “just” two firsts and Kenny Clark (no disrespect to KC) I think we ALL would’ve said Parsons would cost far, FAR more than that. I mean I don’t even know if the AI/computer GM on madden would allow you to make that kind of trade lol

Exactly. This is something that I think others forget. There’s 2 ways you can improve our Pass Defense and in particular when you have a perceived weakness at the CB room.
1. Improve your Secondary
2. Improve your Pass Rush

MLF and the offense gonna put up too many points for the other team to keep running the ball. If Love progresses like I think he will, Packers are going to be putting up too many points for the run defense to hurt them too bad. Think of when the Ravens played the Chiefs in the playoffs a few years ago.

Everything depends on your offensive line now........ only two players returning to their original slot. I'd say you're off offensive line is in as much flux as ours.....
And I am in no way saying that Dayo, the DE we got from Indy is anywhere near Mike Parsons but I do think he was under utilized on a bad defense so.....the season just got more exciting.
What a time to be a North fan.
