Chatman gave all he had...........he wasn't the best WR, but he always gave 100%! To get rid of him, they better have an idea what they are going to replace him with.
Fergy hasn't been good since that creep tried to decapitate him. He's been gun shy ever since. He WAS fearless going across the middle before that cheap shot.
MAYBE the Packers have Fergy back to where he was before that incident. I really think it's a mental problem more then physical. I think Fergy has talent, he needs to get his head on straight now.

He had alot of heart which you can't buy. He did make great catches on bad passes thrown by brett. That was a nice return he had against the bears but once again a questionable move by TT.
Oh no Gakko's pimpin some platinum.

Trom.......do they have some good ones lined up? I don't know much about the draft, or other teams for that matter. If they are not Packers, i don't know alot about them.

i'm not too thrilled

hopefully this means that
A-Murphy will be 100% ready to go this season and
B-We're gonna get a reciever in free agency

I saw nothing wrong with Chatman, now we have to spend more money/picks on this position when our defense could really use it...

1) Chatman is short already and can't afford to have much of himself cut.

2) 05 was his "contract year" and he really did not screw up.

3) There are 31 other teams that will have 5 WR's on their roster. Since he is in the top 155 he is likely to land a job.

Chatman wasn't signed for 06 anyway so his "release" is just a calender event.

Not a Superstar. Not a Screw up. A regular NFL player.

well, i dont know the specifics, but chatman was probably cut for cap\bonus reasons. there is a chance we re-sign him.

and if our WRs are Walker,Driver,Gardner....does our 4th reciever really natter all that much. Yeah he is a return man...but those arent hard to find.

Add that to the fact that chatman WILL be replaced...it could end up being better. remember...we have money this year. Maybe they cut chatman, and WILL bring in someone like randle el, maybe sending brett a message that they will surround him with good people (get hte man line help and another solid WR, and he'll be back)

just dont kill this move to death till you at least see the new WR corps. if, when the season starts, our WRs are worse than last year...then its open season...but till then...it doesnt make much sense.

You can't build a team out of superstars, you need some regular NFL players :p

As a lil guy myself I have to say I do not agree with MM...When I played ball I put some serious moves on the opposing team and yet I was still durable...anyways my point is I think someone stated this earlier"its not the size of the dawg in the fight, its size of the fight in the dawg." I guess we will not get any little speedsters in the draft to replace chatty..Jermey Bloom would have been a nice kick returner for us or my boy from sconnie williams..chatty was no daunte hall but he was consistant at what he did...I gues MM likes the big boys and with big boys chicks dig the long ball...

trom....MM said he was cut because he was too small. He wants bigger WR's for his offense. Why are you ripping people for what MM said? Brandon Williams will not be drafted by the Packers. He is an inch or so taller but weighs the same as Chatman. I don't understand why you can't understand that.....unless you think MM and TT are lieing. Personally I will reserve judgement on them, but if you want to accuse them of lieing, that is up to you.

i didnt know mm said he was cut cuz he was small. i didnt say he wasnt cut for being small, good try though, depack.

and as far as someone not liking small guys, neither does favre. we need more gardner types.

trom....didn't mean to rip you. It's been posted a number of times why he was not re-signed but damn Gak has this whole board screwed up. I thought you were questioning whether MM had a different reason. I misread your post and thought you said MM and TT will still draft Williams.

I got no problem with them wanting bigger guys. I don't necessarily agree with it but it's their team now and we nee to let them take their shot.

I'm just remembering the Seahawk game where Chatman screwed up a route and Brett got in his face, then threw to him the very next play for a touchdown.
Brett obviously knew Chatman could take the chewing out and be where he was supposed to be on the next play.
That is called gaining trust and showing respect for a guy who never once slacked off when he was on the field.
He made mistakes but he made many more great plays to make up for his mistakes. You don't just go out and draft or pick up a guy in free agency with Chatmans qualities.
Oh well TT says he is to small so it must be the truth.
