Opinions are like A-holes, we all have one.
This is why I suspect he stays.
I agree, but I hope the Packers do not overpay, just because they don't have someone to replace him.

Too many personal fouls from Nixon and too few tackles from Valentine. Neither of these guys should ever be the best corner on your team.Nixon has been scraped as the punt returner for quite awhile. Now was that because he didn't want to return punts or the Packers felt he was no longer someone they wanted returning punts?
My take exactly. I think Valentine is currently the Packers best CB and that isn't much of a statement, since he needs to work on several things too.
The Packers secondary is going to be really tested the rest of the way this season. Without Parsons (and Wyatt) on defense, I think opposing QB's are going to have more time when they drop back to pass.
Yes I could see that.I would be curious how that shakes out as well. Roughly speaking, a top 15-20 salary for ILBs works out to around 10m AAV. Currently Quay is at just around 3m and change. Much like the discussion about Gary, IMO he looked reasonably close to a 10m/yr player before Parsons went out hurt.
Physically he is still remarkable, and while he has his boneheaded moments from time to time I think he has really started to iron that out of his game and has been more dependable to my eye. I guess my gut feeling is ultimately that he's a guy who is probably going to be cheaper to give a new contract to than finding someone else who's better and bringing them in. We don't really have any decent internal replacement and coming from the outside we're probably getting cheaper or better, not both. With limited resources I think we'd do better to focus those efforts elsewhere... And I do agree that in general ILB is a fairly undervalued position (but also one for which there's just not a ton of standout players). Even if we tripled his current salary he's still jumping up to just 4-5% of our cap or thereabouts.
100% agree and if I had to fault Gute for 1 thing this season, it was what he did/didn't do to address the CB room. When Parsons was playing we had a decent pass rush and the Packers secondary was able to hide in the shadows. No pass rush, the secondary was fully exposed.Too many personal fouls from Nixon and too few tackles from Valentine. Neither of these guys should ever be the best corner on your team.
Many teams we see in the playoffs do not have much trouble making short yardage first downs. And they can run the ball just enough to make it easier for their passing game. The lack of the run game in the second half was the dagger. We have got to be able to ram it down their throat with a 18 point lead. keep the clock moving..take their will away. The OL has to be up graded even before DL CB. weird lately how our recent departed OL players seem to do better other places. The OL coach has to go..find anyone that can teach these guys to run block. If the OL was in some control last night so many of the other problems are gone. Obvious ones are the clock, play calling all those stupid throws and Defense wearing down. You have to run to win playoff football.
I would not put anything against Jacobs. When you play behind a poor run blocking team, you not only gain less yards but you will get hurt. And it gave defenses the opportunity to load the box. And looking at the defense, we definitely dropped too many picks. But offenses threw short and quick due to Parsons making the downfield pick opportunity a lot less likely.I guess in moving forward, the Packer coaching staff needs to take a long hard look at this list of guys. Some are free agents and the Packers would best to just let them find a new home. Others have remaining and/or big contracts, but aren't earning them, so that too will create some discussion as to what to do with them.

13 Packers who regressed the most in 2025
Brandon McManus, Emanuel Wilson and Quay Walker were among the Packers who regressed the most in 2025.packerswire-eu.usatoday.com

I didn't know all that. Sounds like he's a very good coach.Regarding the regression of Cooper and Walker... I wonder how much of that can be attributed to the loss of Anthony Campanile?
This is kind of related to what was being discussed in another thread too - how a lot of times it seems like many of our assistants aren't seen as particularly "high demand" for other teams and we aren't having a ton of guys poached each year. BUT, Campanile may have been one of the good ones.
As you may know he was our LB coach last year. And last year, especially Coop, he was looking like he was fast-tracked to being an All-Pro LB. This year...not so much.
Now of course Camp isn't the only guy responsible. After all Hafley's the DC, but still it's interesting to look at some of the contrasts here.
(And let me also add. There is no one universal "ranking" to fall back on here. Depending on who you read/how you assess you might see some slight variance. I wrote down these numbers a couple of days ago and now can't remember where I sourced them from lol. BUT, they are all still in the ballpark at the end of the day)
Last year, we had the #7 ranked defense, and we allowed a score on 33% of drives.
Last year, the Jaguars had the #31 ranked defense, and allowed a score on 45% of drives.
Campanile left us, and became the Jaguars DC. We replaced him with Sean Duggan, who had previously been one of Hafley's assistant coaches at BC (LB coach 2020-2022, "Co-DC" and LB coach in 2023) and a "defensive assistant" for us in 2024.
This year, our defense ranked #19, and allowed a score on 43% of drives.
This year, the Jaguars defense ranked #6, and allowed a score on 31% of drives.
Now, a year later, Campanile is getting a HC interview with the Dolphins, too.
(I actually saw some rumors - again I can't recall where - mentioning him as a DC option to replace Hafley should he go)
I don't buy that either. It gets old hearing people make excuses for being a young team too. I much prefer to look for people to blame on the coaching staff. But they are harder to pin downNah. I don’t buy it.
I guess they do not want to pay Diggs. I suspect that he will be signed by someone right after the SB.Jaden Crumedy DL and Kyle McCord QB both signed to reserve/future contracts.
Trevon Diggs released.
Have a feeling someone else will grab him.Trevon Diggs just released, saving $15mil on the '26 salary cap. Wonder if he'll be re-signed at some point to hang with his buddy Parsons?

Figured I'd get this one started...at the time of typing this we now know who we signed to futures contracts and can for now drop off the roster any guys set for UFA (placed at the very bottom of the roster thread and will either be deleted or added back up top as signings occur). I did choose to mark and RFA or ERFA guys as "most" of the time they return to the roster eventually.
