Owens' new agent Rosenhaus meets with Eagles

PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Terrell Owens has a new agent. He doesn't have a new contract -- yet.

The Philadelphia Eagles' All-Pro receiver recently hired Drew Rosenhaus to replace his longtime agent, David Joseph. Rosenhaus met with Eagles president Joe Banner on Wednesday presumably to discuss his client's contract.

Owens, who helped lead the Eagles to the Super Bowl in his first season in Philadelphia, signed a seven-year deal worth almost $49 million last March.

``I had a brief meeting this afternoon with Drew Rosenhaus,'' Banner said in a statement. ``We discussed his new representation of Terrell, as he does often with teams of new clients. We are not prepared, at this time, to discuss any other details of the conversation.''

It's unlikely the Eagles would redo Owens' deal, which included a signing bonus of more than $10 million.

``I'm not going to really get into all that,'' Rosenhaus said, adding that he now also represents Eagles offensive tackle Tra Thomas.

In his first year in Philadelphia after eight seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, Owens invigorated the Eagles with his attitude, enthusiasm and exceptional play, adding a swagger to a team that desperately needed a personality.

Owens set team records with 14 touchdown receptions and seven 100-yard games, and finished with 77 catches for 1,200 yards. He broke his leg and severely sprained his right ankle in Week 15 against Dallas, an injury that sidelined him until the Super Bowl.

Owens defied his doctor's advice by returning to the starting lineup against New England just 6 1/2 weeks after ankle surgery, and was Philadelphia's best player on offense. He caught nine passes for 122 yards in the Eagles' 24-21 loss to the Patriots.

The playmaking, showboating, brash-talking Owens lived up to his hype in Philadelphia, delivering everything from his innovative touchdown celebrations to his outrageous antics -- including a ****** segment with actress Nicollette Sheridan for an intro to ``Monday Night Football.''
