The Vikes were in cap hell for most of the 2020's, but had finally emerged from it in '25. Early summer they had almost $16mil cap available. Got their dead cap down to $27mil (from over $70mil in prior years) on 88 former players. Kwesi did well cleaning up the cap but neglected fielding a good team IF JJ failed. Too much riding on an unproven, inexperienced QB, imho.
Wentz going down did not help either.

I'm guessing that Jefferson still supports McCarthy, his QB and teammate. However, if you read between the lines, JJ's window to prove himself to be a worthy starter is closing fast

$70mil on 88 former players?!?! That's wild.
DArnold already did a 1 year prove it deal. Proved it..... And I'm curious what it would've cost MN to keep him?

Or if they never even considered it with JJ waiting in the ranks?

I doubt it hurt either
The way McCarthy came back and played after they got **** out the week before?!?!
I'm just saying ... That was a world class flip. He went from hot garbage, back to the future of the franchise again, in one game.

Yeah. Tough to tell how JJ will turn out. He has receivers. But even if he turns out good; it looks like there will be growing pains. I think they need to get better on the O line for him.

I just saw that the Lions did not have a Rookie minicamp. The only team in the NFL not to do one.

Sounds like the Rookies first workout with the team will be at OTA's at the end of May. That's sending the cubs right into the pride to be slaughtered!

They tried addressing that this off season. But we shall see. They have TEs that are good blockers.
