Well, that one doesn't count, does it?
Considering how badly I want to erase it from my memory, I would dearly love to argue that it doesn't. Ain't my fault that Favre and his crew were incapable of comprehending the definition of "11:00 PM curfew" in San Diego that weekend.

The Super AI-driven Magic 8-Ball analytic tool sez something in between "outlook good", ''most likely'', "outlook hazy, better try again", "better not tell you now", and "how in the hell would I possibly know, you moron?''

So, somewhere in that range, apparently.

But my wife's the accountant, and pays all of our credit card bills, so I'd rather not have to explain why I signed up for the 5-dollar "premium" level Magic 8-Ball account. Cat videos are one thing, and **** is perfectly acceptable too as far as she's concerned, but... not something like this.
I want you to know I have no shame in telling you that I spit out my orange juice reading this post this morning
Hahahahhahahahahahahaha

Not true, luck had nothing to do with it - they didn't look past the Bears, your guys kicked their ***.
What we just saw were two very pivotal games. Going into the home of the defending SB champs with all their Pro Bowlers and decisively beating them says a lot. By the same token, defeating last year's 15-2 Lions with all their offensive numbers in Detroit is also a major accomplishment.
Now going back 6 decades the local broadcasters of Bear-Packer games always concurred that you throw out all the stats, the records, the standings, and all the latest. Whether it is the first game or 200th game, nothing matters. It is just a backyard battle of kids in the neighborhood. It never changes.

The Bears are good at creating turnovers also:

https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nf...1&cvid=56feaf194dc34387e1ff68015e4644ec&ei=15

"Wright flew into the Tush Push chaos with a plan in mind to strip Hurts of the football. And he somehow did it untouched: Wright didn’t collapse on the bodies to the left of him after the snap. Instead, he hesitated for a split second for a path to Hurts to clear, and he went right for the football."

The refs probably should have blown the whistle like back in the day. But since they give the offense more than enough time to keep pushing a pile they should just as easily wait so someone can rip it out.

It’s actually one of the few things that has worked against the Tush Push. Stand Hurts up and just fight for the ball. I mean you probably have a 33% chance of ripping it away.

...and this is it 100%. I've read where some Eagles fans (read: a lot of Eagles fans) have the audacity to complain that the ref should have blown the whistle. I'm guessing that their argument would be something along these lines: "We didn't score and Hurts fumbled. Therefore, the play should have been blown dead when his forward progress was essentially stopped but, that only applies to those plays where the Eagles don't score. Let's be clear on that."

The Eagles had absolutely nothing on offense and the Bears ran over their vaunted defensive *****. I was very impressed by the Bears in that game. They had a good game plan that confused the Eagles' defense and they blew the Eagles out in the trenches. With Wyatt gone that's a real concern. I'm worried that the Bears could dominate the LOS against us like they did against the Eagles.

I think that's the way the fans look at it but for the players, it's just the next game on the schedule. Does Caleb Williams really care about Packers-Bears history when he's only been around a little over a year and a half?

The players certainly want to win but for them, it's one more week in a 17 game a schedule that they need to be well prepared for.

Technically isn't this pushing illegal? I thought assisting the runner was once flagged and now the refs swallow their whistles. This offseason when a team proposes to ban the tush push they ahould use this argument.

I just Googled this and in 2005 they amended the rule where you can push the pile. It is still illegal to lift and carry a runner. I still think they should go back to how it was before 2005.

The league has spent the past 50 years trying to help offenses. Apparently, that is what boosts ratings and sells the sport. Remember the Ice Bowl. Chuck Mercein, shown lifting his arms to indicate he was NOT assisting the ball carrier as Starr crossed the goal line. That was football.

The Bears are the #1 seed, at the moment, in the NFC playoffs. Huge game, Sunday! Packers need to bring their A-game to Lambeau and put the NFC back in order. ;)
And I do not have much faith in the Lions going into Soldier Field against the Bears in their rematch although they blew them out in Detroit.

I said it during free agency last year, the Vikings were absolutely stupid to let Darnold walk. Then they doubled down on that stupidity by handing the keys of a 13-4 team over to JJ McCarthy, an unproven and questionable draft pick.

This article really sums up the demise of the Vikings this season. It's a Wall Street article and I don't have a subscription, but MSN reposted it(below).

"The Costly Miscalculation That Sank the NFL’s Most Expensive Team"

At least the NFL North and West have 3 teams still in the hunt and some stadiums like Lambeau will be rocking for the remainder of the season. Can't say that about Jacksonville or NJ (Jets).

Not any time soon. But the Vikings would be challenged to beat the Seahawks even with JJ out there.
I'm currently living in the Twin Cities market, and there was a fair amount of hope and excitement to a) have anybody besides McCarthy at QB, and b) having a former Gopher starting an NFL game - in that order. I think there was acknowledgement that playing at Seattle was going to be a tough assignment, but they were at least expecting to look at least as good if not better than they did against the Packers last week.

I don't know if everyone has seen the play where it all went south - and you should definitely look it up if you haven't - but the Vikes decided to go for it on 4th and 1, trailing by 3 at around the 5-yard line late in the first half. They decide it's a good idea to throw for it. Brosmer's about to be sacked and he decides to just fling it underhanded as he's falling to avoid taking the loss - right into the waiting arms of a defender who takes it the length of the field for a pick-6. It's right up there with the dumbest plays I've ever seen. I doubt Brosmer sees the field again anywhere in a real game.
I almost feel bad for JJ

Almost...
Jefferson or McCarthy? Jefferson was definitely had an "I'm frustrated" vibe during this game..

I watched the entire game, and listened simultaneously to a beyond-frustrated Paul Allen while making dinner. The Brosmer pick-six was embarrassing. However, for a kid in his first start he threw the ball generally well. However, he didn't play with good pace. They were missing much of their already-pathetic offensive line. He rarely had more than an instant to make a decision.

Jordan Love and Patrick Mahomes would surely make some better decisions on certain plays, but I doubt that the outcome would have been too different. I'm not trying to make excuses for the Vikings, but merely pointing out the fact that their O-line has been atrocious for years, they spent big money in FA to fix it this year, and it all went to H-E-double hockey sticks. It's the worst time to put rookies out there.
