No excuse for these things not to be top notched. There should be someone other than the head coach overseeing all of it imho. Maybe explains problems will injuries
MLF is the Packers' OC. And that would be fine if he was not also the HC.
Just my opinion, but he gets wrapped up in the offense to the detriment of the D and STs, hell to the detriment of the offense. He is also weak in clock management. Some of that is beyond his control, but not much.
So what can be done? I'd much prefer that he acted like a HC and hired a qualified play caller for OC. This would give him more time to make in-game adjustments - to just have a better feel of the flow of the game, and that includes making adjustments during the game. He simply hasn't shown he can do this, or that he even wants to.
I did not want to see him fired. I did hope that some other org changes would happen, like the appoimtent of a real assistant HC (Bisaccia did nothing, as far as I can tell, in this role).
And I was also hoping Gluten would get promoted to manage of all football operations, with MLF reporting to him. Policy would have to be very involved to make sure that new dynamic worked (MLF reporting to Gluten), but this is the best way to manage a football operation IMO.
So I don't see a lot that has changed between 2025 and 2026. Gluten is just going to have to trust that MLF can manage the offense, while improving the D and STs.
