all about da packers said:
I'd have rather lost the Conference Championship game.

Why? Something likle 6 of the last 7 teams to lose in the Superbowl didn't make the playoffs the next year. That's kinda freaky.

But, two years after losing the superbowl, the teams almost always get back to the playoffs. (see also: 2008 Chicago Bears).

Losing in the Conference Championship is worst THIS YEAR. If we would've losted in the SB, we would've lost to "The Best Team ever". But we losted to a Giants team that we could probably beat 7 outta 10 times.
Thats pretty much how i feel. I was EXPECTING to beat the Giants, and would have been thrilled to be in the SB. I would have LOVED to see what we could have done against the Pats. Even if we would have lost that game, we would have at least been conference champs.
Twas not to be though.

There may be a silver lining here folks, we are a young hunger team for the most part, so that lining may be two fold.

First, getting so close and not making it has got to stoke the fires of these young and old players alike.. most everyone on the roster hasn't played in the big one.. Harris and Woodson to name two.

Second, maybe just maybe if we had gotten to the Superbowl, we may have been torched and beaten down with by the Pats offense. Embarrasment may have followed by a lackluster offseason, in the Giants game we may have lost when favored but we played right with them. I don't think it hurt our confidence at all to lose in that fashion.

They may sound like excuses, but check out the records of the losing team in the Superbowl, more to it than an excuse. BTW.. that applies to all teams but the Bears.. they just suck. ;)

Check out the records of the losing team in the Superbowl two years after the superbowl...

I put it this way.

Who is going to remember the Giants beating the Packers in the NFC Championship? NOBODY!

But... EVERYONE will remember the Giants giving the Patriots a perfect season in the Superbowl.

That sounds better to me then to say the Packers gave them a perfect season.

Not to say the Packers would lose for sure, but if they did.
