Packers guard T.J. Lang had surgery on his left wrist April 5 and will miss off-season practices, a source confirmed today. No timetable has been set for Lang's return to the field, the source said.

Lang is expected to be ready by the start of training camp in late July, but the nature of the injury could lengthen the timetable.
Lang, 22, fractured the scaphoid bone in his wrist during practice in December. The injury didn't improve during the offseason, so surgery was the next step. According to online medical journals, blood supply to the scaphoid bone can often be tricky and is essential for recovery. But Packers doctors feel good about the surgery and that Lang will have a full recovery in time for training camp.

Safety Derrick Martin also needed surgery to rectify the ankle injury he had last season. He will also miss off-season practices, which start Monday.

This is not good. This fracture can take months to heal, even with surgery. Hope for the best, and he's ready for the regular season.

Let the man rest in peace. It is one thing to put down someone when they are alive (which is still awful) but it is completely wrong to put down someone who has passed and can't defend himself. Whatever he had done is his business no one elses. What does it matter?

mods should check this guy out. Several post of just babble. Bot maybe?

How come we never hear about injuries or any surgeries happening to Jarret Bush? For once I just wish there was something that could get him off the field. Out of all the players with the injury concerns, Bush is only one who stay healthy. How????

Thats a major blow to the O-line, both for depth (experience) and possible starter. Now if Spitz has his back act up on him we are back to the same O-line to start the season.

Newhouse and Bulaga need some time to develop, at least 3 or 4 games where they can come in when we have a good lead before I would start them, or worse have to play because of injury.

IMO I was counting on Lang coming back stronger with a year under his belt to improve our O-line from last year.

Now we deal with rookie inexperience (mistakes) or old and fragile guys.
