We've taken a huge u-turn on this thread, and that's partially my fault.

To get back on topic, are there any updates on Jacobs' legal status? It's taking a very long time for the police/DA so hopefully this can get resolved for everyone involved.

The Packers seem to be going about business as usual. Jacobs is practicing and looks good. Lloyd hasn't injured himself and that is a huge victory. Seriously, I'd love to see what this guy has. He's sought out expert help, much like Watson did a few years back, to deal with soft-tissue problems, mostly the dreaded hamstring.

Even if Jacobs returns full time this season, the Packers need to groom a replacement. Good backs are available throughout the draft if the GM looks hard enough. Hopefully they already have that guy in Lloyd. Hopefully…….
It is intriguing how one player's futile fate can open the door for another, whether it be injury or happenstance.

Eyes to see and ears to hear.
Yes. That’s actually one of my song lyrics. “No eyes can see no ears can hear no mind conceives your love for me… I see you dimly in a mirror, yet so faithfully..”
The greatest of all human qualities is the ability to Love. Especially when it’s any of us being seemingly unlovable.

I figured I would just be more direct. Rather than speak in rhymes and innuendo:).

Calling me crazy got chapter two of the 10 book series, read out loud. Lol

That’s a true story by the way. :) Mrs Hill will tell you.
Well today they legalized fertilizer with forever chemicals in it . Not sure people understand what this stuff is... It changes your DNA. It doesn't just kill you. It attacks your bloodline.

This happens every time you challenge them. Like we are doing now.

I'm telling you old school... The world will never find peace with these people in power. That goes for the people here who use this truth to attack me or my character. For them.

It makes much more sense when you understand that according to their God. We all are gayam. And deserve to die.

And maga is still holding their front. While they start crop dusting our fields and water with forever chemicals.

I’m 100% convinced that Evil doesn’t follow a political affiliation, so as not to make this a Political discussion. Evil people don’t draw party lines they run rampant. So when I see sides attacking each other it’s comical level because they’re all offended at the littlest thing, but a simple 30 minutes in fast reading or research dissolves much of the fear campaign. Im not sure if you’re referring to this safety protocol with $5B (yes Billions) attached to its promotion. This is not old news there’s been ongoing research in the safest way to handle the rise in synthetic chemicals over the last 30+ years. Some new aspects of the global issue in the last 10-15 years have created a worthy focus. This isn’t a new problem or one that initiated in January 2025. It’s in response to a perceived partial failure to implement a previous strategies because of the more broad focus. It’s called get your Oxygrn mask on and resolve the first issue to better attack both short and long term issues.

Very good answer. Rather than claim the sky is falling all the time people must learn to be realistic and use common sense. The Surgeon General gave information in regard to the effects of tobacco in 1963, pretty much what was already suspected. Yet, 6 decades later people by the millions still smoke and still pay the price. There is a big push from the environmental side to ban all glycophosphates, Roundup, being the big one. Monsanto lobbies as hard as those opposing it.
The equation may not be weighed in a courtroom. Those that oppose the glyco believe it saves millions of lives. Those that do not also understand the impact it would have on world food production. And any modern organic integrated form of agriculture could not meet the volume demand in this world no matter how hard they try to sell it. Maybe 150 years ago. The cost for the farmer, the shipper, the supplier, and the consumer would sky rocket. Shortages would be rampant. Simply, removing all herbicides and pesticides from the process are not as easy as switching to decaf coffee like some believe.
I have used Roundup for over 40 years, e.g. I am still here. Misuse of a product can lead to disaster, especially at high volume. As far as political, those companies lobby both parties, and give money to both as well.

The history of pesticides and herbicides has always been in the public eye. So has tobacco. So has alcohol. So is the COVID vaccine. Some people look far into the future. Some look in the here and now. Remember DDT. Remember Agent Orange. It is an era in which it is hard for the public to trust the scientific community regardless of the validity. All it takes is a handful of pseudo science to be applied and it will appear as snake oil being sold. So the articulation has to be better to convince millions and millions and to help them understand it.

I don't know how you can go from ddt, agent orange and tobacco to a knock on science. I mean the big companies pay scientists? to lie for them. But the science, real science, was always there.

Science is one of the great tools that our human race has been given. But it can be as good or as bad as those who use it. And we all seek the truth. But we are also instructed to beware of false prophets. As the saying goes. A bad tree cannot produce good fruit. And a good tree cannot produce bad fruit. And we can judge them by their fruit. It would be convenient if every profession produced only good.

We don't all seek the truth. Tobacco and oil company scientists lied. They twist results and don't care about the truth. imo

Well so much for comments on Jacobs and the implications for the running game.

We’ve moved on to pesticides. Why not?
pretty funny!
I know that I wish I could be as vigorous and resourceful in the many things I’m thankful for as I am in my complaining. Today’s a great Day to turn that around!

Today is a Day to Celebrate our Country for its rich history of putting many Fears to bed. Im glad our Ancestors pushed and forged and sacrificed and toughened up over Fear.

All Gave Some. Some Gave All

I’m thankful to remember and experience our Countries’ 4th (1976) and 5th (2026) Jubilee Celebrations.
I know I’m not alone.

As a police officer, I investigated quite a few domestic violence incidents. Some were factual, others were pretty much created by the so-called victim with the intent of inflicting pain on the other, whether it be arrest, essentially extorting money, or for just plain spite. In most cases, within 72 hours you were quite certain whether or not you were going to be filing charges. The longer it drags out, the more you could see it fit into the latter categories, not where actual physical abuse took place.

In Josh's case, no matter what the outcome is, he chose a person to share time with who seems to have had an ulterior motive for being around him more than an emotional affinity for each other. That's the part that's at least on him. We need to be careful in our choices of association, no matter how deep the connection is.

There's a reason that about 50% of all marriages end up in divorce. People don't really take the time to ensure the person they intend spending their lives with is the right one.

No matter what, Josh will always have this hanging around his neck like a weight. It's sad it happens, but it does. Is he guilty of a crime? That's highly unlikely or he would have been charged with a crime. A misdemeanor isn't a crime, it's usually a stupid decision that leads to something you could regret the rest of your life, but worse, something that some people love to pick at on others, like a wound.

Interesting. My brother and brother-in-law were both career cops. They both agreed that responding to domestic situations were the most unpredictable and many times the most dangerous.

You raise an interesting point - as time passes without any charges, it’s likely because there is no there there. And this situation with Jacobs has been dragging on for weeks, if not over two months.

I also agree that even if the accused did nothing, the stain of the accusation remains. Celebrities experience this, the downside of fame. Of course celebrity has its miscreants too and pro athletes are included.

I still don’t understand why this is dragging out so long. It doesn’t seem as if the Packers are concerned, just my observation.

Hey V.
I was going to make a remark about choking and police responding but this probably wouldn’t be the appropriate time for that! There’s bad eggs in every bunch and unfortunately the entire group pays for the blanket label approach to overreact on the opposite side. I think there’s a much higher % chance that it’s an isolated incident that likely got out of hand and as you said, that’s pretty common. I always say when you take a group of 300,000,000 people and have 1% act stupid it’s still 3,000,000 people acting stupid! Quit blaming the rest of society!

Josh doesn’t have an ongoing regular history of this that I’m aware of? If nobody can provide evidence that this was his normal way of handling things I think we should give the guy some benefit of the doubt. In many cases there’s this thing called provocation.
I think he’s learned a lesson that when you’re a celebrity you don’t get away with this kinda stuff. There will likely be a behind the scenes settlement if he took it too far, but unless there’s some serious long term damage (which is always the assertion in these cases in a constant chase for $$) they should resolve this between parties and learn from it. We don’t all need to get in the middle and play executioner or destroy lives over every physical interaction.
