We are eventually going to be on a pay per view basis, streaming, for all sports, at least anything worth watching. I wonder how long before the Super Bowl makes it to a streaming service? We have already had NFL Playoff games each of the last 3 years.

The NFL and Bell Canada are both large monopolies. Bell owns TV networks, and are a Cable and Satellite provider for likely 50% of the Canadian households. Plus they have their phone and cellular networks. I'm not sure that any US broadcaster has that many conflicts. Were definitely paying for it through higher cable and satellite charges. All of the Bell Networks heavily promote the NFL in Canada.

I'm not sure how much longer it will last, but TSN (The Sports Network) or CTV in Canada carry all of the streamed games. Their parent company Bell Canada likely pays dearly for it, pushing up cable bills, but they haven't moved things to a streaming platform or premium cable package to date.

I got a perfect song for us when we play the Bears this weekend.
I was out for a walk this morning here in Florida listening to "Living on a Prayer" by Bon Jovi.

What'ya think?

Luke Willson can be a little prone to rants and be preachy but he definitely knows his stuff. Him and Jay Onrait are gold on Spots Centre coming on immediately after the late games. He has the mullet hairstyle which I gave up about ten years before he was born.

- Against All Odds - Phil Collins
- All I Need Is a Miracle - Mike & the Mechanics

Been a Packer fan for many years. Paul Horning went to my high school (Flaget High in Louisville, Kentucky). As bad as I want them to win, I don't see it happening. Sure hope I'm wrong.
This is a tough one to call. Most of the prognosticators on NFLN and ESPN are either leaning towards GB or saying it is a toss up. I suppose it is because we won the first one and only lost the second because of goofy crap that happened at the end of the game in Chicago a couple of weeks ago. EVERYTHING had to go their way for them to win that day.

Don't you guys think Chicago got more to play for then the Packers seeing
our injury list is a mile long and assuming we're not going far into the play off's?

Yes. The #2 gives you an automatic pair of home games with a Wildcard Win. Huge advantage

Also if the #1 seed comes in soft like the 2011 Packers? You get all home games and the lowest remaining seed provided you advance.
By that time it is only for 1 game but the most important.
Unfortunately, that won't happen. They have been pretty good at shutting down the free streamers as well. However, I found one that still works. So I haven't missed any games I wanted to watch this year.
Don't you be sharing and getting the board in trouble
and that one is?
And don't you be asking for the violation
How do I know you don't work for the NFL and will shut it down?
And I like this!!

Times like this I'm glad to be living 5 miles or less from the GB TV broadcast towers. No streaming fees for OTA broadcasts.

ETA: edited the title so 4 seasons from now some newbie doesn't think it's the upcoming 2029 week 6 game.

No.

Allowing nearly our entire Starting Roster a bonus week of rest is a bigger deal than most realize. Most often we rest a few players. This year we literally sat 90% of the starting Roster. There’s zero doubt imo that our Starters do not feel incapable or demoralized.
If anything psychologically we all know we cheated ourselves out of a chance for a Divisional sweep and #2 Seed by an onside Kick by an inferior team. I’m fully expecting a playoff like atmosphere and our Roster age travels very good on the road. Especially with a week of rest. This will be the healthiest we’ve been in months.

I’d be concerned if I’m Chicago. They have high expectations and we should be an underdog, but only surface underdog. They’ll need to remain +2 on takeaways to win this game imo.

I predict even One fumble or INT by Chicago will be detrimental. My challenge would be to our D to get at minimum 1 forced fumble or errant pass by ripping punching slapping or tipping or turning to play the ball as a WR rather than holding and grabbing and offering free penalty yardage. This needs to be a priority numero uno. I might even consider subbing Diggs in place of Carrington at least for a few Quarters. I think he’s going to want to show his stuff and open his options for a new home with his buddy, Micah

I also wouldn’t be shocked if we lost by 2 points or win by 2 scores.

Pass heavy shootout.

Jacobs worries me.

Whoever wins on 3rd downs and turnovers will move on.

MLF needs to bring his A game.

In a sense this reminds me of the old days of TV blackouts for every team. Like a Pay Per View of old boxing fights. Or being shown in a local theater for Closed Circuit TV.

I think normally a short 6 day week is not beneficial for a team over a more typical 7 or 8 days. However the team traveling would normally be at a disadvantage added to a road game
2-3 points. This is just my opinion now.

Here we have a unique scenario. GB has the bulk of their Starters getting 13 days between games and 12 days to travel departure. Then factor it’s the closest Stadium to Green Bay with a flight time under <45 minutes. The Jet lag or altitude factors are now inconsequential and the extra 5 days becomes advantageous to Green Bay. Here home field is just 1pt and I’d expect a greater number of Packer fans showing up over previous meetings.

It sounds like Rome Odunze will be back in the mix coming off an injury. Zach Tom is projected to play after missing 3 games and he’s an under the radar addition to Green Bay’s as probably their best O Lineman. Also Brenton Cox Jr is now fully ramped up after ramping to a regular rotation of snaps (44) last week. In addition Barryn Sorrell (52 snaps) has been effective when used regularly. So the Packers should have plenty of options at Pass Rusher or if they want to keep a fresh rotation against one of the best Chicago OL.

GB should have a better choice of DL and LB’s to pick from. Might even keep an extra DT in order to matchup against what should be a test of our Run Stop. I suspect we’ll see Chicago go after us on the ground earlier in the game and I’d be prepared with heavier box sets by appearing to play back and then last second shooting a Safety or LB into 1 gap or a CB coming blitz off Caleb’s string side.
