Ellis' 11-year Cowboys career officially over after he's released by team

Should we take him now? There was a discussion about that at packerslounge. It was about trading for him, which I said NO to. But now he's a FA, I think we should at least take a look at him, discuss what kind of contract he would demand and see what he has left. Any thoughts?

How possible could we've signed Julius Peppers? He has a tag! And not only that, he hasn't signed yet. Unless we spent 2 1st rounders on him, and that's plain dumb.

He's going to want too much. Just a gut feeling. But if he doesn't, it'd be nice to get a veteran in here that actually knows the system. It'd be nice if all 11 guys weren't doing this for the first time.

I would of liked to see him retire a Cowboy, but I guess they will have to make a special exception when he is ready to stop playing and maybe he can rejoin in a couple years just to retire a Cowboy. He had a good career in Dallas, but he should hang it up instead of dragging this on for a couple more years.

I've never heard that he was a lockeroom problem. The main reason was cap space, and his age.

Ellis is good pass rusher, but as some said he's old and has had contract issues probably not worth the money.
