WOW....now THAT is a shocker. Did not see that coming. They must be worried about his age and availability. The Josh Jacobs signing now makes more sense.
Well now that makes running back a little bit higher on the draft pecking order.

Not really. Jacobs is a damn good back. The Packers will be looking for a #2 RB either in Free Agency or in the draft.

I love Jones, but the Packers just got rid of a guy that will turn 30 next season, for a guy that just turned 26 a month ago. The key for both of those RB's is their health. Jacobs was injured a few times last season, but so was Jones. Jones has 1777 carries in the NFL, Jacobs only 1305.

Here are Jacobs stats since being drafted at #24 in the first round in the 2019 draft. Also, keep in mind, this was with a Vegas team that wasn't very good.

1300 carries? I bet Jones has half of that. That 340 two years ago kind of scares me. I just don’t want a Zeke situation. I think the league has learned from that lesson though. I love 3 year contracts for running backs.
My bad!! Jones has 1177 carries. That is quite shocking to me.

Thank you, Darnell Savage

The Packers 2019 1st round pick heads to the Jaguars on a 3 year deal. He will forever be remembered for his epic pick-six that put the nail in the coffin for the Dallas Cowboys. We wish him well.
I haven't seen the contract numbers on Savage, but I have a feeling it is for more than he was worth to the Packers. Runyan's signing with the Giants for $10M/year is fools money that I am glad the Packers didn't spend. I would wager to guess that once contracts come in on a lot of the Packer FA's, we all will be pretty happy that the Packers didn't pay that amount.

I wonder if they are trying to free up money to re-up Clark and Love, while still trying to sign other free agents.

I posted it, Jones has almost 2 seasons more in carries, 472 more carries to be exact.

Remember when Linsley signed that massive deal? He came to mind when I saw Runyan’s numbers.

How are the queens signing 2 guys for that much while still taking a 28 million cap hit for cousins? For a team that is supposedly cap strapped every year, they still spend alot on free agents!

GB loses a lot in the receiving game. I get the age difference but AJ had 1177 carries in 7 seasons while JJ has 1305 in 5 seasons. Career rushing avg. AJ 5.0- JJ 4.2 Rushing TDs AJ-45/JJ-46. Receptions AJ-272/JJ-197 YDS. AJ-2.076/JJ - 1448 AVG. AJ- 7.6/ JJ- 7.4 Receiving TDs AJ-18/ JJ-0. Games played AJ-97/ JJ-73. Not knowing how much AJ wanted and how much JJ is getting I will reserve judgement for now and hope it is an improvement. I wonder who is the better pass blocker? Going to be pretty tough to be a better locker room guy that AJ. Of course the FO knows a lot more about his health and last years injuries than I do. It will be interesting to see just where he lands. Another 2 guys from the Rodgers era are gone. Jacobs is 38 months younger than Jones.

Yup. Linsley signed a five-year, $62.5 million contract with the Los Angeles Chargers, making him the highest-paid center in the league. Sounds like he is retiring.
Seriously?! I didn’t hear that. I don’t even think he is a 10 year vet. Just looked it up, this will be his 10th year if he doesn’t retire.
