Second to last PFF post of the year from me. (I'll do an overall best and worst of the year too sometime). Again 10 snap minimum for me to list:

Best Offense
Matthew Golden - 90.5
Romeo Doubs - 88.9
Jordan Morgan - 77.1
Jordan Love - 73.9
Aaron Banks - 73.7

Worst Offense
Luke Musgrave - 44.6 *he simply isn't able to get open a guy with his speed should be able to...
Rasheed Walker - 45.7
Anthony Belton - 46.0
Josh Whyle - 50.5
Christian Watson - 53.2

Best Defense
Rashan Gary - 68.9 - those from the game thread likely remember me pointing out he was routinely winning, best game he's had in ten games or so IMO
Evan Williams - 68.6
Jonathan Ford - 68.5
Lukas Van Ness - 68.2
Egerrin Cooper - 65.4

Worst Defense
Isaiah McDuffie - 38.3
Quay Walker - 39.3
Karl Brooks - 46.5
Carrington Valentine - 48.8
Kingsley Enagbare - 49.5

Mostly confirms the eye test too IMO.

Golden's "coming out" game. Doubs reliable as ever. Morgan quietly had one of his better performances. Love did plenty enough to win.
Luke, I just don't know about him. not like we have any other options at the moment but I hope we can upgrade at TE next year. He just doesn't get open enough and half the time he gets the ball seems to manage to do so in such a way that he's tackling himself practically. I would love to see how many broken tackles he's ever been credited with lol. Walker and Belton, I wish I could see first vs second half. Seemed they did okay in the first and then completely evaporated later. Watson kind of surprises me. I thought he had a good game. But he did have one or two big "miss" plays I guess.

Gary, like I said in the game thread...maybe he was sandbagging for half the year so he'd have a full tank in the postseason :D
Cooper's loss was so apparent. I know he wasn't at his absolute best for much of the year but his absence totally tanked our defense IMO.
I didn't think Enagbare was that poor either, but I dunno. Surprised not to see Nixon up there... between he and Valentine we might have one of the worst CB1/2 pairings in the league right now.

Anyone hear any reason why Diggs only got one rep?

Both are better than they appear. Honestly both would be fine if we had one better player to bump them down and are probably outplaying their contracts. Nixon just isn't a CB1, Valentine isn't really a CB2.

He's late to the party and probably doesn't know the scheme. I would have expected him to get more reps had we survived another week.

So yes and no. Honestly, they are not close to as bad as many think (myself included). When Nixon plays within himself and doesn't try to headhunt the big play and get burned he can be a CB2 some games but never consistent. Valentine 100% IMO is a CB2 in the making but you gotta have a surefire #1 opposite him.

Collectively though our pass defense was by a lot of metrics better this year....so they cannot be as bad as some say...and to be fair a lot of that production against us was once Parsons was out and we weren't feasting on pressures as much.
