Lance Zierlein dropped his huge cache of scouting reports yesterday, so I thought I'd create a thread to catalogue some of the takes/reports/rankings of some of the big names in the industry.

I tend to prefer Zierlein, Jeremiah, Brugler, Cosell to guys like McShay or Kiper because there have been enough gaffes over the years that led me to believe that half the time those latter two don't even watch the players.

But anyone else feel free to post content from whoever they really like.

Ok, Zierlein posted his reports. He doesn't release rankings, but just reports with grades. His grading scale is:

5.0-5.1: Chance to get into a camp

5.4: Priority free agent

5.5-5.6: Draftable; chance to make a roster

5.8-5.9: Backup/Special Teamer

6.0: Developmental player

6.1-6.2: High end backup; chance to start

6.3-6.4: Will start in first two seasons

6.5: Boom/Bust

6.7-6.8: Year 1 quality starter

7.0-7.1: Pro bowler

7.3-7.5: Perennial all-pro

8.0: Perfect prospect

Below, I'll stack up his prospects by position that received a 6.00 or better.

Big takeaway, he seems to be really high on this class at QB, WR, OT, EDGE, and CB.

In another thread can you go back a few seasons for his rankings and see how many hits he actually has? Because of others you said
led me to believe that half the time those latter two don't even watch the players.
so which have the batter track record?

Shocked that Osa missed his defensive line tiers and Hayes missed his edge, but dangit if I don't agree with a lot of his. His OT rankings are dang near a mirror of my thoughts and I as well have Slater #1

Anyone else catch how high on Meinerz he is?

Seems like Meinerz has blown up since he left Wisconsin WW and started training with higher level coaches. His Sr. Bowl was supposed to be dominant.

I haven't really watched anyone from this class. I doubt I will get to much. But guys like LZ give my a frame of reference and a watch list.

My takeaway is that Zierlein thinks that there are very few high impact defensive players in this draft.

My takeaway is that Zierlein thinks that there are very few high impact defensive players in this draft.

There are five players in this class that he's given a 7.00+ grade to and four are offensive:

Trevor Lawrence
Kyle Pitts
Devonta Smith
Ja'Marr Chase
Patrick Surtain

There are eight others who are above a 6.5 and it's an even split:

Micah Parsons
Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah
Jaylen Waddle
Rashawn Slater
Penei Sewell
Travis Etienne
Ozeez Ojulari
Christian Barmore

So among his 13 guys with big grades, 8 are offensive players and 5 are defensive players.

There is a lot of agreement between these three early on.

Biggest divergences for Brugler:

Harris over Etienne at RB and no Javonte Williams in his top 50.

He's close to Jeremiah on Elijah Moore, but LZ is much higher. Moore is Zierlein's 22nd player-- 50 and 56 for Jeremiah and Brugler.

Brugler is pretty high on Joseph Ossai, the edge rusher from Texas.

He's got his flag planted on Chazz Surratt apparently.

Looking more closely at Zierlein’s grades.
It seems to me that he doesn’t that this is a very good draft class.

I don't think that's true.

He has like 140 guys so far that are graded as at least potential developmental starters or better.

I don't really know where else to put this.

With the progress he made as a pass catcher in 2020, the Packers should have Etienne on their board.

I'm not saying he's who I want for them in the 1st round, but he should absolutely be in play.

Etienne for our position is gonna mean at 29 or trading up in the 2nd if he is there still.

Yeah, I think he would be a nice consolation prize at #29 if CB, WR, OT all get cleaned out.

I wouldn't be excited about the Packers using their first round pick on a running back after selecting Dillon in the second round last year.

I agree, I though do see the value of what Etienne could provide, but agree Gainwell, Kylin, Patterson, Felton or the Louisville kid im blanking on all can be had later and serve as Dillons compliment not competition for snaps.
